4.0 out of 5 stars Great band, Bad production upon Sony BMG's part
This band is one of the best rock super/power bands ever in my opinion and they wrote some greats songs together and released two superb studio albums. This Extended Versions compilation is pretty good, but the production isn't so good. It seems to flat sounding. If you want to purchase this I would suggest the buying the DVD "Uprising Live." All these tracks are from...

3.0 out of 5 stars Only for diehard fans
I am a big fan of Nugent, Styx and Night Ranger, having seen all of them several times since the mid 70's at various points in their careers. When Damn Yankees was formed I really liked them, never saw them live but still crank "Don't Tread On Me" up in my car frequently!!

This is just the audio from the live dvd released of them, "Uprising Live". The vocals are mixed too low on several songs and they do well on the Damn Yankee's songs but fart around too much on "Renegade", Cat Scratch Fever" and "Rock In America", which fades out on this cd. I wouldn't really recommend it unless you're a dogged diehard fan. If they had released a live recording of any of their other shows, it would have been really special, just not this one.

This Extended Versions compilation is pretty good, but the production isn't so good. It seems to flat sounding. If you want to purchase this I would suggest the buying the DVD "Uprising Live." All these tracks are from that performance and the DVD is currently on sale for under $5. Overall, I enjoyed the performance and I like how they added Styx's "Renegade," Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever" and Night Ranger's "Rock in America," those weren't too bad, but there wasn't enough time put into the production of this release.

4.0 out of 5 stars Liked the concert a lot, May 28, 2011

I have bought a few live albums and been so disappointed that I swore I'd never do it again. The CD doesn't play as well as the DVD but it is still far better than other live albums I have purchased. Tommy is an especially great vocalist live. I had problems getting the CD to play on my usually great car stereo because the bass and treble were conflicting too much with the vocals. Live doesn't play well on my iTouch even with a Bose speaker attached. It is better on my expensive home stereo system. I wish they'd stayed together and done more of these.

Everything that was stated by Michael Brown, in his review is correct.

If you are a die hard fan, purchase this to complete your collection. Otherwise, buy the DVD... the concert was just as bad, but at least you can watch the band as well as listen.

I saw the 'YANKS in concert three times and I can attest that this is not indicative of the band in concert - not least of which being the trade off of lead guitar solos, rather than Tragic Ted handling them all (as was done at this concert.)

For die hard fans only...
