Not What I Expected, August 4, 2000

This review is from: Extending Your Telephone Wiring (Fix-It Maps) (Paperback)
We bought a modular home with only one telephone number/line. We thought we could save money by running our own lines. We wanted three phone numbers (one for the PC of course!). In some rooms we wanted one line, some two, and others all three. This was no help to me at all. It told you how to add telephones but only if you had one telephone number/line. I wanted to run one physical cable containing 3 twisted pair wire around the house. I didn't know exactly how to do it since we weren't going to have three numbers in each room. Please excuse the terminology - I'm not experienced with phone lines - that's why I bought the book! (Actually, it isn't a book - I didn't realize that's what 'Fix-it Maps' meant - it's like a small road map in plastic). It told you the tools needed, how to go through walls, etc. but it didn't tell me what I wanted to know. It seemed a little out-of-date to me.

I ordered what I thought would help us hook up the wiring for additional lines we were having hooked up in our home. When I received this product, which isn't even a book, it's more like a pamphlet, I was extremely dissapointed. It did not contain one word of information that was helpful at all. I definately regret wasting my money and time on this product.
