Hey Mister! Put a little mustard on that mustard!,

That's a quote from the album's opening track, just to give you an idea of what you're in for.
I first heard of Electric Six when I saw their video for Danger! High Voltage really late at night on MTV. It was so weird that I thought I was hallucinating. Since then I've hunted down all their music, and they've become one of my favorite bands. Their lyrics are hilarious, and their disco-metal sound is unbelievably catchy. I've seen them perform live three times, and they always put on a good show. I was really looking forward to this album, especially because of the ridiculous and extremely fitting album title. I purchased this album at their show in Chicago, where I was able to meet all of them and get their signatures. Not only are they very talented musicians, but they're also really cool people. The album itself has quite a few instant classics, like Showtime, McDonnelzzz, Feed My Habit, and the White Train. The Green Building is a slower song that also has a great sound to it. At first, I would have said that most of the other songs fell slightly short of their 3 previous albums. But in all fairness, their other albums are pretty hard to beat, and now that I've listened to it about 10 times already, it's definitely growing on me. If you're already a fan, buy this album. If you're just curious, buy their first album "Fire." I promise you that you'll get hooked, and you'll end up buying all the other ones too.

ISEEAMTRMFBTM or What crazy fools from Detroit title albums...,

Hmm, Where to begin? I have listened to Electric 6 for a couple of years and their blend of Disco, Metal and Irony has pulled me through many a workout. ISEEAMTRMFBTM (Who wants to type the whole thing?) has proven that Electric Six remains one of the best workout bands on the scene today.
They are funny, smart and catchy. If you are intimated and are looking for one song to buy, get "Down At McDonaldz", it is poppy, rocky and it just might be the pinnacle of Disco Rock. With all of the boring rock out there, E6 is holding the torch for good (and I mean good), fun music.

The Masters ROCK! Again! e***** 6 stars!,

What a damned fine CD! E6 (Dick Valentine) are amazing, versatile, rock & roll geniuses! They just keep getting more diverse, tight and hilarious and pertinent with every record! Songs like It's Showtime and Down At McDonaldz jump out as early faves, but the deeper you go into the set, the better it gets, especially after a bunch of listens! Kukuxumusu, Lenny Kravitz, White Train and When I Get To The Green Building are amazing little ditties! I can't say enough about one of the great bands who have not attained mass appeal! That may be their strength, but they should get a shot on the radio and Letterman or something!! Anyway, buy all their CD's, you'll love them all!! You have to! They Shall Exterminate Everything . . .

Great Find!,

I first heard these guys listening to the Bush/Blair "Gay Bar" send up, and I just loved Valentine's voice - I love a belter, and I loved his pronunciation - simply lovely. Sorry, I'm a voice freak! And the guitar work was excellent too - the kind I don't get to hear any more with all this pussy synthesizer work and sampling that's being done these days. Anyway, I went to their web site and saw some of their videos and listened to some more tunes, and now I'm here! I like these guys, and the videos are great too - Valentine is so uninhibited and funny. A very pleasant surprise - so glad I found them.

Play it LOUD!!,
This review is from: I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being The Master (Audio CD)
I first heard The Electric Six on a college radio station. At first I was curious and now I'm hooked. This album sounds better LOUD and what makes it even better is that the music is fun and the band sounds like they are having a really good time performing it. I'm looking forward to receiving the other albums soon. I had a hard time getting past the 1st three tracks because I had to keep going back to listen again. Love it!!

An Absolute Crime...,

...that "Down at McDonaldz" isn't a chart-busting hit song. An absolute... freaking... crime.
This is one of the best bands recording today, with a fantastic body of work this decade. They're too sophisticated for their time, and I say that without any irony. They have their fingers on the pulse of everything that is B.S. in our culture today, and frame it so perfectly.

I know a bloodbath when I see one,
This review is from: I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being The Master (Audio CD)
On this, their fourth outing, the prolific Detroit sextet once again deliver the unique blend of tongue-in-cheek bombast and deadly serious musicianship that is their hallmark.
While it may be a tinge darker in spots than previous releases -- "Showtime" is in part a commentary upon demanding fans, while "When I Get To The Green Building" is allegedly a rumination on death -- it rocks every bit as hard. I'm surprised no one has mentioned my personal favorite track, "I Don't Like You", which perfectly captures the feeling of revulsion you experience when you realize that someone you'd been slightly infatuated with is in fact a fairly serious narcissist. (We've all known people like that, yes?) "Someone told me you were cool, But the more I think about it, That someone must have been you. Didn't you read your books at school? 'Cause you really don't seem ready For the drop of the other shoe. You can do what you do, But I got bigger fish to fry than you. And I-i-i-i-i don't like you." Spot on, and the cornerstone of an album I definitely do like.

good... better than Switzerland... but not as great as Fire,

I loved Fire. It was like crack. I listened to it and got all my friends hooked. Then Senior Smoke, and that had some good tracks. The solo album, not so much. Then Switzerland.... what a stinker. I only liked Infected Girls. This is a bit back to form. Down at McDonnellzz makes you want to dance. Randy's Hot Tonight makes us LAUGH. We are not sure who it was written about, but we picture Randy Quaid dressed up a National Lampoon's Cousin Eddie rocking out. It's worth the buy.
