Meh., August 18, 2008

First off let me start by saying that there IS alot of talent here. The vocals are great, nice riffs, etc. The problem is it lacks dynamic. Every song pretty much has the same feel and the energy is fairly constant. There's not alot of highs and lows here. Don't expect a powerful chorus following subtle verses. Most the time I couldn't really tell where the chorus was.
I realize that not everyone has to follow the verse > chorus > verse > chorus pattern. That was merely an example. I just wanted a little more fluctuation and diversity in the sound. The talent is DEFINITELY there, they just may do well in finding a better producer. I gave it a 3 star because it wasn't bad, it just didn't really do anything for me. I recommend a listen before you buy.

starts out great, March 20, 2008

This is pretty good for a debut album. The first 3 songs are great. It kind of trails off a little after that with moments of excellence.
It's been out a year. I am surprised I have not heard more about this group.

Every song is great, July 12, 2007

A few weeks ago I saw Ligion in concert. The show was so great I bought the album there, and I haven't stopped listening to it since then. External Affairs is an amazing album all the way through and is a necessity for any rock and roll fan.

Awesome new band, May 15, 2007
This review is from: External Affairs (Audio CD)
This is a fantastic album, worth every cent. Every song rocks, and these guys should be on the radio instead of all the lukewarm bands out there right now. My brother brought it home and after listening to it for 5 minutes, I had to get it myself! Watch out for Ligion, they're gonna make it big!

Ligion rocks!, May 14, 2007

The moment I put the CD in my car I couldn't take it out. Every song on this album rocks and will get stuck in your head in a matter of minutes. If you're looking for a fresh new sound in the rock scene, look no further than Ligion.

Modern rock done right, April 10, 2007
This review is from: External Affairs (Audio CD)
In this era of disposable music and whiny male singers, Ligion steps up above the pack. The songs are all powerful, yet melodic and the songwriting is excellent. "On The Way" and "Get Over Me" are great songs that should be played on the radio instead of endless garbage by Rob Thomas and Hoobastank. I guarantee the chorus of "Lost My Car" will stick in your head for days! "Weak (The Internal War)" is an instant classic, it's got a little bit of everything wrapped into one song. June is a great guitarist and songwriter. I have seen him perform in chicago a few times in the past. These guys deserve some mainstream attention. Rock fans won't be let down by this one.

Um.....yes!, March 23, 2007
This review is from: External Affairs (Audio CD)
Okay, so not only does this band ROCK, but June (guitars) is freakin' smokin'! I saw them open for Saliva last night and was loving the music, but wasn't completely looking at the stage at first. The second I looked up and saw June, I was like whoah! :) That is the finest specimen of a man I believe I have ever laid my eyes on, ladies and gentlemen. And this is coming from someone that hates musicians, haha. But seriously, these guys are something completely different. Their originality is very refreshing in the rock scene going on right now and you need to check it out today!
