When I don't have access to a charger while I'm outside I'll throw this into my backpack. It can charge my HTC One about 1.5 times. I've also used it with my Zune.

Pros: compact size, feel or exterior material, battery level indicator, method of charging and recharging

Cons: super low output of 1A. It won't charge devices that need high output (can't share with other peoples phones), price for amount of battery is below average compared to competition. Other high demand devices have to be off for it to work.

I have had this for a few weeks now and I can't tell if I like it or not. The size and shape is great for me, the quality feels good, the status bars are nice and the way you can use one cable to not only recharge the battery itself but also recharge other devices is clever.
What I don't like about it is the super low output it has. I can't charge my Samsung S4 unless the phone is off. The samsung uses to much juice to be on and charging. Granted it's labeled HTC but it's just a battery with a USB (universal serial bus).... universal! This limits it's ability to be functional with other devices outside of HTC One. This may not seem like a big deal but how many of us have different phones than our partners or family or just have other devices we carry that can benefit from a battery pack?
I gave it a 3 because I think it is overall a good product but don't like it's limitations. I would have liked to do a 2.5 because I feel it's fair that it's a 50/50 split good and bad.

The HTC battery bar is an awesome product. I love it.

First of all, lets talk about size and feel.

The HTC Double Charge is a good size that is practical. It is rectangular with no rounded edges. It is thick but not wide like many others are. Its dimensions are ~ 3/4" thick by 1.5" wide 3" tall. It fits well in hand. The product is encased in a plastic hard shell with a rubberized soft touch coating, making it a pleasure to touch, similar in feeling to the material on many cases that are hard plastic but rubberized. Engraved into the product are the "htc" letters at the top in the orange area and the words "Double Charge" along the edge in the black area. The bar feels solidly built (like the majority of HTC's recent phones and products). I have not dropped it nor do I care to test its durability, but given its feel in hand I would say it can survive some punishment. The button at the top of the bar is rectangular and easy to push. It serves to light up the LED status lights near the engraved htc logo. The button is well built and has little wiggle and has a satisfying click. It sits flush with the rest of the bar and does not stick out above the item (less things to snag on). There is little beyond the engraved words and regulatory stickers at the bottom and side of the bar. The orange side houses the MicroUSB and USB ports. One to charge the bar and the other to output its charge to any device you connect.

What about performance?

It has served me well for my Droid DNA, HTC One, and Samsung Note II (The Note proved to take a longer time to charge, but then again the Note has a battery that is 1000mAh larger than most devices). My wife has used it to charge her iPhone 5 as well. I've used it to charge my devices while playing a game called Ingress.

This charge battery is awesome. I use it to keep my HTC ONE M8 charged while I am out hiking and/or taking pictures.

I bought this charger because I realized that while extra batteries are a quick and easy way to power up on the go, you can't share them among different devices. I bought this HTC Double Charge battery pack on a somewhat impulse buy - it was on sale for $25.

I am very impressed with the battery's build quality. The design is very modern and feels great to the touch. The shell has a little bit of that soft rubberized plastic feel - doesn't have that cheap plasticky feel at all. In person it is really a great looking device.

The battery came with a short 4 inch usb cable and a user's manual. There is a button that when clicked shows the battery status via four LEDs. There are two USB ports on the battery - you simply plug in one to charge the device and the other to recharge the battery pack. That's it - simple and user friendly.

The 6000mah capacity is good, and it is able to charge my HTC One about two times or so before needing a recharge. The extra loss (HTC One is 2300mah per charge) is due to the transfer overhead. The output is 1A, which is good for phones but a bit slow for tablets. Since I got this mainly for my phones, that's not too much of an issue. But it is a caveat if you are looking for a 2.1A output charger. Keep in mind, HTC designed and marketed this as a charger for handsets, so it's understandable. The other caveat is its price. At the full retail price, it's a bit higher than comparable chargers that offer higher capacity and/or 2.1A output. It's still an okay deal since you're paying more for the good looks, but I would seriously suggest a quick search online for sales that makes it a much better deal.
