Bought this to use with my new Dell Net Book. Truly plug and play. Computer recognized the drive immediately and was ready to use in seconds. Used the drive to install Microsoft Office 2010. Note: I do not recommend running Office on a Net Book, but that has nothing to do with the quality or functions of the DVD drive. I normally do not award 5 stars unless the item exceeds my expectations. The DVD drive does everything it is supposed to do and was a good value. Arrived a day ahead of the estimated deliver date.
I especially like that it worked fine without an external power supply, but not sure that applies to use with some older computers.

What can I say, it worked on a couple of computers but not on the Netbooks it was purchased for in the first place. Then, inexplicably because it was seated on top of a desktop without being moved, it just stopped working and refused to work again with computers it previously had worked with. Avoid this piece of junk.
