Product Description

My EeePC adapter failed after the 1 year warranty period, so I ordered this as a replacement.

While I expected to receive an adapter identical to my original one, as pictured, this adapter is NOT an original adapter from ASUS and has some annoying differences:

* The original EeePC adapter is rated 9.5V 2.315A. This adapter is rated 9.5V 2.5A. One of my motivations for buying a more expensive "original" EeePC adapter was to have the original, unusual specs. The adapter seems to work fine so far.

* The original EeePC adapter has an unpolarized plug, so it can be plugged into the wall in two directions. This adapter is polarized, and can only be plugged in with the bulk of the adapter facing down.

* The original EeePC adapter has a velcro tie built into the cable. I tried to remove it from my original adapter to put on this one, and discovered that I couldn't: the loop was too small to clear the computer plug at the end of the cable. This adapter came with a cheap white twist tie.

According to the label, this adapter is made by another Chinese company, "PIELECTRONICS". Buyer beware!
