5.0 out of 5 stars I WISH I WAS PEN-PALS WITH TED L. NANCY
THIS BOOK IS LAUGH-OUT-LOUD HILARIOUS! With TV and movies it's easy but when was the last time you laughed and cried from reading a book? This book will make you do it! It's a testament to how stupid people are that they actually respond to the letters of Ted L. Nancy (which go from strange to bizarre to absurd).

Some of my favorites:

Ted's letter to the owner...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff, but not as good as previous two
I enjoyed "Letters from a Nut" and "More Letters from a Nut" a great deal. While this book is extremely funny, and is worthy to stand next to its previous volumes, it isn't quite as good. Whereas in LFAN and MLFAN, Ted L. Nancy had a wild method of writing to various people/companies, in which he would make himself appear to be a real-but-nutty...

5.0 out of 5 stars I WISH I WAS PEN-PALS WITH TED L. NANCY, August 3, 2000

Ted's letter to the owner of Norm's Barbershop where he says he'll be opening his own barbershop next door and calling it GNORM'S BARBERSHOP. Will this be a problem?

Writing to a wildlife park and telling the rangers he'll be studying the grizzly bears in full bear costume. "If a bear waves and says 'Hello' it'll probably be me."

A letter to a poetry contest with his submission "OH HOW I HATE POETRY CONTESTS"!

The sheer ingenuity of these letters kept me cracking up...sometimes I'd be laughing just to see which business or country Mr. Nancy would target next. The laughs come page after page and I can't recommend this book more highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the funniest book the world has ever known, October 31, 2004

The first Letters From A Nut was lent to me by a friend during a very difficult time in my life and it was very good medicine. Since that time I've bought the book for several people as gifts and produced lots of instant fans. What I've found interesting with this book is the "trail" it leaves--for example: I lent the 3rd Letters From a Nut to my pastor (instant fan), who ended up staying up almost all night with a group of friends (who now call themselves Ted. L. Nancy disciples!) reading it and laughing themselves sick. One of these friends in turn bought the book for his dad, who is a high school special education teacher. His dad loved it so much that he now uses the book as motivation for his students (rewards them by reading letters to them!). It's that good. This is the most creative, ingenious humor I've come across. It will inspire you to think of your own "letters" (my sister in law was tempted to write her state department of transportation for permission to plant corn between the east and west bound interstates). It's the "gift that keeps on giving!"

This book was funny! I was laughing so loudly I am sure my neighbors wondered what was going on in my apartment. Under no circumstances should you attempt to eat or drink while reading this book unless you have someone nearby who can perform the Heimlich Maneuver.

If this isn't the best bathroom book in the world, I don't know what is. You can read a couple of letters, then leave it for the next visit. It is painfully funny. You wonder: 1. How does "Ted" think these up? 2. What is the initial reaction of the recipient? 3. Does the person on the other end of the letter reply in serious or jocular spirit? 4. Is the Tonga Visitors Board preparing for Ted's visit?

God, it is funny! Great "guy" gift book.

I enjoyed "Letters from a Nut" and "More Letters from a Nut" a great deal. While this book is extremely funny, and is worthy to stand next to its previous volumes, it isn't quite as good. Whereas in LFAN and MLFAN, Ted L. Nancy had a wild method of writing to various people/companies, in which he would make himself appear to be a real-but-nutty individual, many of the letters in EN:EMLFAN are pure gibberish. I imagine many of the recipients thought the jokes were typographical errors, and not the mark of a wackjob.

In addition, the series of letters which appears to be the funniest is censored for some reason. This is not explained. If Seinfeld decided not to enclose the material for whatever reason, I could understand that, but I wish he would have either provided his reason or omitted the section entirely.

Again, despite its weaknesses, EX:EMLFAN is a very funny book, and I highly reccomend buing it if you enjoyed LFAN and MLFAN.

5.0 out of 5 stars funny as hell, May 28, 2000

This book, what can I say about it. It keeps me laughing for hours and always will. I own the first two also and they keep me going with the giggles. It's one of the funniest books ever I personally think. For someone to ask those weird of weirdest questions to people must have too much spare time on his hands, but hey, he must get a kick out of it and so do lots of other poeple.

If you want a funny book that will make you laugh even after you close it and put it away, this is your book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny book and series!, June 13, 2006

This book was just as funny if not funnier than the original title. I'm the kind of person who doesn't laught at TV shows or movies unless I'm with a group, but when reading alone, I found myself cracking up quite often. Ted has quite a random mind and comes up with the wierdest, akwardest, funniest letters ever; to which the companies actually reply! Usually, I don't enjoy reading, but this book just brought it to life. Probably in my top 10 of all time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Toilet Side Reading, June 15, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Extra Nutty! Even More Letters from a Nut! (Hardcover)
Ted L. Nancy writes strange letters to random companies in order to get odd responces. He gives a book load of hilarious but short conflicts to laugh about. Nancy pokes and picks at these random executives to exploit them for the laughs of the general public.

Nancy is a comedian who just wants to annoy these companies. He assumes the role of a circus clown, a man who plays a big baby, even a man interested in injecting ham into his blood stream. These are real companies. Of the group: Ruth Chris, Oscar Meyers, the Louisiana Superdome, even Olsmobile were all mailed by the mystery man. The book caused side splitting laughter to anyone who dares to crack the binding. short pages, fun to read, great for school. Overall I'd say Nancyis a hilarious man that makes it easy for the reader toget a laugh. I feel that it could even encourage some kids to do the same.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to listen to comedians like Jeff Foxworthy. Actually I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to laugh. This is a fun, light, read, My english teacher says, "It would be a good book to read while going to the bathroom."
