This is a great *real* memory foam bed. I could sleep on it without a problem. I purchased two for my great danes. It offers great support and comfort for them, however it is not waterproof. It is not even water resistant...unless you're talking about a fine mist. If someone has an accident and you're not there to clean it up immediately, you will be disappointed.

The brown suede covers that come with the bed fit well, but are fairly fragile. Two of the covers are fine, but the third one I received as a bonus for buying two beds fell apart after one hand washing. The zipper came off and stitching started to come out on the opposite end. I would love to omit this information because I think the beds are great and wouldn't want a defect in one cover to affect your choice to purchase a really great bed (the reason I gave it five stars!!), however, I want to be completely honest so new users are aware and take precautions to prevent extra work or damage to the memory foam.

All that being said, despite the waterproof comments, I highly recommend the bed for the quality of memory foam and the positive effect it has on the joints and sleeping health of your dog. It really is a great bed, but do yourself a favor and buy a waterproof mattress cover (twin size, full cover with zipper...you can get them for around $10 from Walmart), and use that on the inside of the suede cover instead. It will protect the memory foam and does not cover the mattress so tightly that it can't breathe.

***To be fair, I have not had a chance to contact the seller about the suede cover defect yet. From my limited experience with them, they have been quick to fulfill and ship orders, and I would buy from them again based on that experience.***

I have two labs and the youngest has always loved to chew on her dog bed and rip the stuffing out of it. I have had the new dog bed for two months now and amazingly, she has not touched it. I typically can't keep her from chewing a new dog bed after she has had it for a couple days so I am really amazed.

I couldn't figure out why my 2 year old lab kept trying to get on my bed in the middle of the night. Then I thought about her sleeping pads, that were getting lumpy and old. We had memory foam on our bed, so we decided to give her some. The first night I had my answer. She slept like a baby, right through the night. Good dog, Belle! Thank you memory foam. I only wish I had bought a larger size, since these pads seem like they will last and she will probably not get new bedding for a long, long, time, if ever. An additional bonus, I only noticed after purchase, these dog beds are made in the USA.

The material is pretty sturdy and it keeps it
shape. It is easy to clean. My 14 year old
lab spent his last days on it. It help make him
comfortable till the end.

My German Short hair usually chews up most beds. They last a few months. This bed has been great. Its very durable, and seems to be the most comfortable bed he has ever had. I don't know what it is about it but its a great bed. He's getting old and loves to sprawl out on it. Thanks for a great product.

My german sheppard who weighs 180lb and is huge fits on this with plenty of space. Its low profile so we can hide it under bed.

My dog has only had this bed for about four hours, so it's too early to say for sure, but so far she loves it so much that she is voluntarily staying off the couch!!!!!!!!!! She is a Great Dane who sleeps about 23 hours a day, and this is the first bed that I've found that she prefers to my furniture. She was in it within 15 seconds of seeing it, and hasn't been out of it much since then. Truly amazing, and I would say she definitely recommends it - she has not been nearly as enthusiastic about sleeping in any of the other 10+ beds I've bought her in the past year (including some that cost nearly double this one). She also has occasional incontinence, so this may just be her perfect bed!

Bought two so that both my dogs could enjoy and they just LOVE them. Thank you so much for offering such a great product and a reasonable price.

would recommend this product. great value. dogs love it. stays firm. great size. most others like this are way overpriced. shipped quickly.

My English Mastiff is TERRIFIED of this bed. He will not even step on it unless I lay on the bed and coax him over. Even then, he tries to lay on top of ME rather than lay on the bed. Full disclosure... my mastiff is quite stupid, as mastiffs tend to be (my favorite part about the breed). If your dog is smart enough to out think the sensory "trickery" of the memory foam, then you'll probably be OK. For instance, my Great Dane likes the bed a little better, but he still prefers his old regular foam mattress.

Despite the above, I still gave this bed 4-stars because it really is high quality. The not-so-waterproof liner doesn't take away from the bed's overall quality; it's just false advertising. IMHO, I'd rather buy my own liner and get high quality foam than vice versa. Anyway, I took my liner off in hopes that it would assuage my dog's fear of the bed, which it did only slightly.
