They really work!,
This review is from: ExtraLife Produce Preserver Disks - Set of 3 (Kitchen)
Saves money with vegetables & extra trips to the grocery store.
I've ordered ExtraLife many times because my produce stays fresher a lot longer. example- Cilantro, which lasts up to a week for me, is now still fresh into it's 3rd week. I've also found they seem to still be working even after the 3 month recommended limit.

I hate grocery shopping more than dentistry. I do however like my fresh produce and have tried every setting on my refridgerator produce compartments to no great end. This item has definitely extended the shelf life of my produce and is well worth the reasonable cost in testing. I do not use it for fruits but have heard that it works. Dunno. But I am quite happy with the product and would recommend as well as buy again after the recommended 90-day use cycle.

It actually works,
This review is from: ExtraLife Produce Preserver Disks - Set of 3 (Kitchen)
I was skeptical about this product at first but it actually works! It doesn't keep things fresh forever, but definately prolongs shelf life of fruits and vegetables by atleast a week or two which is great. It works alot better than Evert-green bags which actually made fruits and vegetables rot faster in my experience. Go figure

If you haven't used the "green bags" you might like the disks, but unfortunately the disks fell very short! I've used the green bags for well over a year and thought I'd give the disks a try. I thought the disks might be easier than rebagging all my produce and fruit. I've followed the directions as stated on the disks and placed one in each of my refrigerator crispers. I also placed one in my counter-top fruit basket. In each situation the fruit and produce started aging much much quicker than in the bags. As an example, I can place a new bunch of bananas in a green bag and they will stay extremely fresh for at least 10 days. Using the disks, the bananas starting turning with brown spots within about 4 days. I can keep lettuce in the green bags for 2-3 weeks....with the disks the lettuce is beginning to turn afer less than a week!!! Needless to say, I'm going back to the bags.

My wife and I only shop for groceries every other week. We used to have a problem where we would have fresh fruits and vegetables around for a few days or a week, but then we'd go about a week where the only vegetables we'd eat were frozen. Worse yet, we had to plan our produce buying perfectly to avoid wasting a lot of it.
Somehow we came across these and decided they were worth trying, and they work just as advertised. Drop them in your crisper drawer with your fruits and vegetables, and they last at least twice as long. We now have no problem keeping fresh produce around for a couple weeks (and longer). This has the benefit that we can keep more produce around, too, as we don't have to plan in advance how we're going to use it since it will last so much longer. They recommend replacing them every 3 months, and since they're fairly inexpensive I have no problem sticking to that schedule. They probably last longer than that since I don't notice any loss of efficacy over time, but for a few dollars each, does it matter? We've been happily using these products for about 2 years now and have gotten many friends and family to use them, too.

these really work!,

The little green disks work great, I've been using them for years. Vegetables that used to last a few days now last two or three weeks. Very easy to use...just pull a sticker off the back of the disk and throw them into the veggie bin in the fridge.
You have to have holes in the bags of food, though, or the disks can't work. If you buy, for instance, salad greens in a bag...just poke some holes in the bag.

This definitely works on apples!!!!! I purchased a few apples and received these disks a few days later. It has been almost a MONTH and my apples are as crisp and delicious as the day I bought them - if not fresher!
My lemons seem to be faring well with them as well, and they're almost a 3 weeks to a month old! My greens (kale, bok choy) did not last any longer than normal... I wonder if they can be used out of the refrigerator? And, sometimes my crisper bins are full and I have to store other fruits and veggies on refrigerator shelves - I wonder if they would work there, too...?

Now I can keep my farmer's market veggies fresh all week,

I've been doing the 'eat local' thing for a while now - doing all of my grocery shopping at the weekly farmer's market. The only problem was that the market only happens once a week, so anything I buy has to last 7 days before the next market rolls around. With some veggies, this isn't too much of a problem (Brussels Sprouts, for example). But for others, 2-3 days was all it took for them to start to loose their freshness.
So I bought a set of three of these, and placed them into my veggie fridge (yes, I eat enough veggies to justify keeping them in a separate fridge in the garage) a few weeks ago. Sure enough, as is claimed, I have noticed a marked increase in the freshness of those veggies towards the end of the week. For example, my lettuce greens remain crisp stored in an opened plastic bag. My broccoli does not get 'soft' in the stems. And my zucchini doesn't get as wrinkled or mushy as it had before. This has now earned a permanent spot in my fridge! -jason

These will extend the life of your produce if placed in the produce drawers; just remember to open any bags produce are in to allow air to flow. These have paid for themselves over and over again in our home by keeping vegetables fresh days (or even a week) after they normally would have gone bad.
