Editorial Reviews

Review by James Chrispell.... While lacking the heaviness of Spooky Tooth, Gary Wright's first solo effort was not all that different in structure from his parent band. "The Wrong Time" was predominantly riff-oriented, with a catchy, melodic chorus. Also of note was "Sing a Song," with nice falsetto vocals. Altogether, a good first showing.....SIDE ONE: 1..Get on the Right Road...3:30... 2..Get Hold of Yourself...3:11... 3..Sing a Song...3:11... 4..We Try Hard...2:28... 5...I Know a Place...5:00...SIDE TWO:..6 The Wrong Time...3:22... 7..Over You Now...3:43... 8..Too Late to Cry...3:50... 9..I've Got a Story...5:26...

5.0 out of 5 stars 1971 was a great year!, September 26, 2005

This review is from: Extraction (Audio CD)
I heard this album when it first came out in 1971 and I'm still listening to it today. 1971 was such a good year for rock and this is one of the reasons why. By far, one of the finest albums ever produced. This is one of those rare treats where it gets better and better every time you listen to it. It's one I have derived a great deal of pleasure from. Please give it a listen and see if you don't agree.
