This is a great book to read to your young children or grandchildren -- fun story while teaching lessons on table etiquette. It will also be good for your young advanced readers learning to read. Book has engaging, colorful and fun illustrations that complement the story well. I love the fact that the "star" of the book is an African-American boy -- not many books out there for young black children that show them as the center character. Cannot wait for more of this series to come out!!!

The Extraordinarily Ordinary Life of Prince is no ordinary children’s book. It is a book about a young boy that every child can relate to. It takes you on a fun journey of learning while making etiquette understandable for kids. It is an enjoyable easy read with vibrant illustrations and a simple way to remember “which fork is first”.

I was recommended to use this book for a dinner etiquette lesson to children ages 5-10 and as soon as I begun teaching even the teenagers were interested! They had not been taught dinner rules so The Extraordinarily Ordinary Life of Prince Which Fork's First was an easy, fun, and entertaining book to use as a guide on my lesson. I read the story out loud to the children and as they were learning how to set up a table from the reading they began to imitate Prince's behavior. The hamster made them giggle because they have a pet or an imaginary friend that they can relate to with Prince as well. As soon as I was over with the lesson, the kids were able to set up their own plate, forks and spoons location, the use of the "b" and "d" tip for their bread plate and drink place. To sum up, this was a grrrreat book to depend on for teaching lessons.

This book is awesome! I used to work for 2 catering companies while in college and I always wondered what would be an easy way to train the servers in place setting. This helped me remember which eating utensil goes where and it also helped me more effectively teach my 8yr old and 4yr old daughters how to properly set a table. We are still working on the etiquette part of that for my 4yr old and my 3month old son isn't quite there yet either. Thank You so much Mr. Prince for helping a mother like myself who is often times on the go to be able to teach my children etiquette and proper table setting on a relatable level and in a simple way. I can't wait for your other books to come out! Like greatly appreciate this gift you gave to the world!

I am in the service industry as well and really feel this is such a well written children's book that all should read. I see so many children in my high end restaurant that have no idea how to act. That of course is not their fault but the parents. I am sure it is not easy to teach children how to act in a high end restaurant but it just became easier with this wonderful book that they will enjoy. Please buy this book parents and teach you children the wonderful lessons this book teaches. It is never too early for them to learn.

I have to say, this book is so great for Kids. It's about a lesson about etiquette which kids and even adults have neglected nowadays. What a great way to instill proper etiquette to kids when they're young. The pictures are vibrant, Prince is vibrant, and certainly takes us on a journey into this little boys life on how it should be, how we should be, and what it means. Such a great lesson, and I can't wait to all my nieces and nephews get a copy! 5 Stars hands down!
