5.0 out of 5 stars I love the recipes in this book!
I love this book. I had WLS in April of 2007 and the recipes in this book are perfect for the stage I am in right now. The recipes keep the meat moist and easy for a RNY patient to eat. The foods are not bland though, and I love spicy. My favorites are the "Fiery Cheeseburger" and "Chicken Verde Quiche". Fantastic!!! The author uses easy to find and inexpensive...

3.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced
I gave this book 3 stars because it is overpriced for what it is. I just expected more for $30. This book is self-published which is probably why it is so expensive. I am sure Shannon put a lot of hard work into this book and I hate to be critical of her entrepreneur spirit because many of recipes seem very tasty and I will be trying them. It's a good book; just not sure...

The foods are not bland though, and I love spicy. My favorites are the "Fiery Cheeseburger" and "Chicken Verde Quiche". Fantastic!!! The author uses easy to find and inexpensive ingredients. She is not promoting an online business that sells expensive protein powders and vitamins. Don't get me wrong I love my protein shakes and find them to be an invaluable way to get the recommended protein in, but it is refreshing to find a bariatric recipe book that is not hawking anything. She just offers easy, healthy and delicious recipes. I wish I had purchased this sooner...it is my new favorite and I have a lot of cookbooks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bariatric Cookbook!, August 21, 2011

This review is from: Extraordinary Taste: A Festive Guide For Life After Weight Loss Surgery (Paperback)
After I had surgery, I purchased several Bariatric cookbooks. This one is probably my favorite (although it does not give info about sugar grams for each recipe, which is important if you've had this surgery). However, the recipes are very tasty and I've made many of them numerous times.

The recipes in this cookbook are similar to the things I ate before surgery they are made more healthy and provide nutritional values for ease of tracking. They are very simple recipes also.
