Toward a resolution,
By April Seventeen "Intercession" (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence and Implications (Paperback)
Dr. Greer brings to an exposition of UFO secrecy the pragmatic approach of an emmergency care physician with the no-nonsense approach of a methodical professional interested in results. He is not as much interested in giving the reader a thorough debriefing on UFO's secrecy as he wants it to stop. His must-read book proposes the best route to a resolution of the UFO dilema. Secrecy about UFOs has acquired over decades a perpetuate life that even the President or a CIA Director cannot tame. Obviously Dr. Greer benefited in writing his superbly documented book from the support of powerful friends in the CIA, the Pentagone and Congress. The challenge is for Dr. Greer to insure the conspirators in the extensive cover-up of Roswell that they would not suffer at the hands of a citizenry learning the enormity of the big lie. Needless to say that the jaded beneficiaries of this crime against humanity are not eager to see it happen. Unless we all become engaged in exposing the fraud, planet earth will continue its steady decline toward self-destruction.

Fans of Frank Drake's "Is Anyone Out There" rejoice, Greer should receive honorary status as a member of "The Order of the Dolphin." This book offers fascinating speculation on the matter of life existing elsewhere in the universe. Read the book to learn more about the history of mankind's search for extraterrestrials, why it is likely that life exists elsewhere, and the impact of what such a discovery means to our own planet and our existence. Further, Greer believes that alien life has lived (or is currently) living among us and he sets out to assert this with substantiated cases. If you ever watched earth: final conflict and believed things could sort of play out like this... the book is for you.

Keep up the good work!,

This review is from: Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence and Implications (Paperback)
I first read his second book Disclosure and it was awesome!!! The first half of this book was new agey at times but still very interesting. The second half of this book is when it starts getting good. U.F.O buffs will love Greer's books. Greer is getting closer to the truth about extratrrestrials, government cover ups, black operations and much more. Greer's books are must reads.

During his CSETI workshop I was dismayed at the real Dr. Greer,
By Knowledge Seeker (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence and Implications (Paperback)
I followed Dr. Greer's activities with enthusiasm since 2001 when he established the Disclosure Project. I read his books, watched his interviews and listened to his meditation CD's. I liked everything the man seemed to be about and shared his views on the need to inform the public about the presence of extraterrestrial visitors on Earth, the importance of establishing peaceful contact with these visitors, in developing free or low cost overunity energy technologies that would clean the planet, eliminate conflict between nations, and bring about a dignified quality of life and abundance to people all over the world. I still share these goals.
So it was with great excitement that I signed up for a CSETI presentation and a one day workshop with Dr. Greer that took place on November 13 and 14, 2009 in Costa Mesa, California to experience and learn CSETI's contact protocol and to determine whether it would be worthwhile enrolling in a week long CSETI outing with Dr. Greer. Surprisingly, my pre-conceived opinion about Dr. Greer's character began to disintegrate as I listened to his presentation. It was disheartening to discover he is excessively fascinated with himself, prone to indulge in name dropping and in bragging about his fantastic 'high end' and/or 'in the know' contacts and connections, not to mention the multitude of outlandish remarks he makes with a straight face, such as his impact on the rogue MAJESTIC secret government. So much so, that according to him, he "rejected a TWO BILLION dollars payout to shut up and abandon the ET disclosure issue". Needless to say, that night I left the auditorium less enthusiastic about what Dr. Greer is all about. But it was not until the workshop and the outing next day that my opinion about him really changed - unfortunately for the worst. Again, during the workshop Dr. Greer devoted some time to self admiration while attempting to appear humble by saying, "I'm just a country doctor from North Carolina". By then, I was becoming quite uncomfortable about him but as the workshop progressed my discomfort turned into dismay as I watched how rudely he treated some attendees who asked valid questions or made harmless remarks but whose timing or subject he deemed "inappropriate". I was truly shocked and could not believe my ears and eyes as I watched him lash at them with such scornful contempt. It was so bad that I wondered if this man was consciously trying to chase these people away. Dr. Greer claims to have experienced meditative Samadhi or oneness with all. If so, one would think he would have achieved a certain degree of enlightenment and a sense of kinship toward his fellow men. Why then was he so harsh and unkind? Did he forget these people paid a significant amount of money not only to listen but to ask questions as well? The worst and most disheartening part of this experience was witnessing the CSETI's field contact protocol. At the site, a number of devices such as a radio transmitter, magnetometer, radar detectors, infrared scope, etc. were arranged. Even though I don't doubt Dr. Greer may have had several ET experiences in the past, what I observed in the field that night is inconsistent with his hyperbolic claims suggesting he can vector ET's and make them appear. His actions and the facts demonstrated that at the very least this is a bold exaggeration. Not surprisingly, to cover up for this assertion, Dr. Greer made sure to bring out a series of possibilities for a 'no show' prior to the field excursion. According to him, sometimes the ET's might not appear because, "there is someone in the group without good intent and a clean heart" or "the ET's feel threatened by US military" or "even though they won't fully materialize they will manifest in a thousand other ways". Conveniently, there were plenty of people at hand, mostly staff, who would come forward to state that while meditating they saw this or heard that. Most amusing though were Dr. Greer's remarks at the beeps and sounds made by his electronic equipment. You see, according to him an ET he named Walter communicates via one of these electronic devices and Dr. Greer is able to recognize which beeps he makes. Additionally, the large quantity of "WOW!" and "Oh my God!" remarks coming out of Dr. Greer's mouth over unseen or imaginary nonevents was sadly hilarious. Often times he would point his mega laser beam at some spot in the sky and claim he was seeing a partly materialized ET craft. Of course, any one else saw nothing even though, according to him, many significant events were taking place that night because "we were such a great group". To make matters worse, Dr. Greer supplemented the lack of any occurrence with information he received via "remote viewing". I found this charade insulting to my intelligence, intuitiveness and psychic sensibilities. I know ETs were not present that night and I would have respected Dr. Greer if he had been forthright and acknowledged the fact that there was no activity. I would understand; it happens. Because I experienced first hand Dr. Greer's tendency to fabricate, exaggerate and embellish nonevents at the CSETI field trip, it then follows that the accuracy and validity of everything he claims in his books is in question since it's evident that, at the very least, he stretches the truth to the point where it becomes short of being an outright lie. In the past, whenever I would read negative reviews about Dr. Greer, especially ones describing him as a self centered narcissist, I would reject them and conclude they were made by people who couldn't handle the truth. But based on what I saw, it appears Dr. Greer is in love with himself, and because he sees himself above others, he dislikes most people. However, he desperately craves attention so he created this ET disclosure platform to attract as large an audience as possible in order to obtain the recognition and adulation he sorely needs. In essence, regardless of the message, this messenger is so flawed one must question the purity and true nature of his motivations. His books, conferences and CSETI outings may be more about the money they bring than the message itself. Furthermore, unless you enjoy watching people being mistreated by Dr. Greer and don't mind embarking on a pathetic farce, I recommend you put your money elsewhere instead of spending it in any of his CSETI's excursions. UPDATE 12/4/2009: In a letter sent to Dr. Greer, CIA director James Woolsey, his wife Suzanne, and two others, refute Dr. Greer's claims regarding his alleged "briefing" to them. To read this letter in its entirety please google: greer woolsey ufo watch dog. Also, astronaut Ed Mitchell refutes claims made by Dr. Greer in Jeff Rense's website. To read Mitchell's statement please google: ed mitchell unhappy with greer.

Most Gigantic Opportunity in Our History,
By Zoe' McCollum (Newport Beach, California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence and Implications (Paperback)
Dr. Greer's book is super packed with facts about the presence of "others". The basic premise is toward action, WHAT WE SHOULD BE DOING NOW. Stated simply we, as earth inhabitants are on the verge of becoming visitors to other planets and the stars. It's essential to approach these "others" in a peaceful, cooperative manner. He is proposing some basic ways of doing that. He is also encouraging society to put their best heads together and approach this contact "the greatest of all opportunities" peacefully with openness, friendliness and cooperation...a new type of diplomacy! There is the idea that our government is withholding information, and there are those who are ordering and using guns to attack these "visitors" under the misguided approach that they are here to harm us... or that the American public cannot "handle it". On a common sense level, if these alien visitors are here to harm us, just the fact that they are here shows their advanced technical capabilities. They could wipe us all out in a nanosecond if they wanted to. But that has not happened. It is much more sensible to approach these visitors peacefully and openly. What an adventure...and in our lifetime! Imagine how much we can learn from them...boggles my mind. This is the most gigantic opportunity in our history. Let's turn on our enthusiasm and creativity for a major face to face peaceful meeting to enhance all of our lives. And let's have it covered on TV....so we can all share in the excitement.

I have been to a Greer "training",
By Suzy Wunderkind "Real One" (Planet Earth) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence and Implications (Paperback)
Like this book, the training was full of fantasy and imagination. Unlike this book, it was not full of extra-terrestial experiences. Rather, for me, the training was full of social-psychological phenomena. Some would call it "group think."
Greer, a dominating personality fascinated as much with himself, his thoughts and imagination as he is with ETs, seems to have a core group of followers, a majority of whom are single women. They are his resident "experts" at these trainings and report seeing what Greer suggests they will see. (We call it "priming" the crowd.) The group dynamics are incredible! Some of these women observe with their eyes shut or tightly "squinting" and report what they have seen as reality -- always ETs or avatars, of course. Greer approves and calls them experienced observers. Others, who see nothing, are told to stick with it and as they believe and practice, they, too will see. (Sort of like, if you read enough, believe enough, you will see Jesus.) If you like science fantasy, this book could be entertaining though frustrating because of the remarkably juvenile, repetitious writing style. If you want facts, go elsewhere.

Dr. Greer's Lecture and Workshop Dissapointment,
By mytruthquest (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence and Implications (Paperback)
I just attended Dr. Greer's lecture and workshop in Los Angeles. WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT!
If someone's personality traits are an indicator, I now have serious doubts about the veracity of any of the material presented in Dr. Greer's books. Dr. Greer's lecture was LIGHT on details regarding the advertised topics, i.e. environmental upheavals, deteriorating world economies, government instability, and the mysterious year 2012, and HEAVY on personal topics. During the lecture he made a weak effort to appear humble with his comment, "I am just a country doctor", but after hearing him talk for a while, it was disturbingly obvious that he is quite impressed with himself and enjoys indulging in self-adulation and name-dropping. In spite of his claims of transcendental meditation practice and a multitude of alleged mystical abilities, he is not at all spiritual. No 'enlightened' person is so effortlessly curt and condescending to audience members who try to ask questions during his workshop lecture. The question/answer period was just as worthless as the lecture since his propensity for egocentric verbal diarrhea permitted only three questions from the audience. During the extremely boring ET contact and craft sighting fieldtrip (workshop), he added insult to injury by claiming he could see (remote view) 'dematerialized' crafts in the area and that ET's where present and moving among the crowd. Interestingly, the few others that 'sensed' the crafts and beings were mostly from Greer's staff. Being an intuitive myself, I can guarantee that no such beings or crafts were ever present. I will not bother to buy any books or any other material from Dr. Greer and will promptly discard the book and CD's given to me for enrolling in his workshop.

Review of "Exterrestrial Contact" by Steven Greer, M.D.,

This review is from: Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence and Implications (Paperback)
Let's start with the bottom line: This book should be taken very seriously.
Preamble: There are certain philosophical and moral foundations for investigations of reality, whether conventional or "far out." 1. An investigation should attempt to gather all of the facts that are pertinent to the subject. Leaving out essential facts can lead to erroneous conclusions. 2. The anlaysis of facts and evidence should be as thorough, complete, and valid as humanly possible. 3. The investigators should hold to an attitude of perfect impartiality; any bias is scientifically immoral. Even more immoral is deliberate concealment and lying to support a hidden agenda. 4. Investigators must often exhibit considerable courage to face and overcome opposition from those who oppose new facts, concepts, and conclusions. How does Dr. Greer's investigation stack up with these principles? 1. The investigation has been extremely thorough, with an enormous body of evidence gathered. 2. The analysis of this evidence seems to be carefully done and valid. 3. No bias is evident in the investigator. In constrast, Dr. Greer has uncovered not only bias, but deliberate obstruction of the truth among many of the individuals and agencies investigated. 4. Dr.Greer has displayed a great deal of courage in confronting opposition to his totally justified right to investigate an important phenomenon. In my opinion, Dr. Greer has reached a correct conclusion that there exists a "shadow government" that is more powerful than the visible one, and which has the money and resources to control information and suppress new technology in support of its own goals.

A must-read,
By Ted Bell "I'm Ted Bell" (Phoenix, Arizona) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence and Implications (Paperback)
Anyone who has listened to Coast To Coast for any length of time knows that Art/Ian/George have had their share of BS guests..."Mel's Hole", Richard Hoagland and his imaginary faces in the rocks of Mars, etc. However, there has always been an air of credibility about Steven Greer. This book is an entertaining, thought-provoking exploration in the possibilities of our universe. And, unlike others who merely rehash the same old sighting reports, Steven backs it up with hard evidence. This is one the best books I've read on the subject. After reading it, one must ask the question: "Is the universe indeed infinite? And if so, what's behind it all? And what's behind that?"
