First, it is unclear as to whether these are cinematic stupidity to the ump-teenth power or were intended as serious sci-fi fare, if the former, 2 or 3 are brilliant, if the later, it raises the question of what possible drug cocktail may have been partaken of!!!

I'll give a brief description of each with a legend to give you an idea as to content;

All 5 movies on 1 disk and the video quality is pretty good but a couple are a little lacking. They are SD, no HD or extra features here.

1) Abolition - Pretty much incoherent garbage. The only real saving grace (no pun intended given further description) is the disgraced adulterous priest (Reggie Bannister) removed from the priesthood who has found his way back into god's good graces, and the less than virtuous goth chick (Elissa Dowling) taken with the hero (or zero?) Joshua. Joshua (Andrew Roth) is either the implied second coming of Christ OR the anti-christ, it is never really made clear. His job is to save the world, and from this role I assume the former. This movie fails not from bad acting, because most of the actors (all the main characters) performed their roles well, it suffers from a lack of logic and coherence. While the is a plot the way it is done doesn't gel. That can be overlooked to an extent, especially if there are some other redeeming qualities but they aren't any. Violence (V) Sexual Situations (SS) Adult Situations (AS) and a fair amount of Gore. No nudity (N) though it is implied. 1 1/2 stars

2) Aegri Somnia - psychological thriller about a man unknowingly locked in a delusional world and his slow descent into insanity after his wife's sudden death. Well acted but a little slow placed for some. The pace does actually allow you to glimpse the tortured mind though.

With the exception of "Werewolf Fever" I would recommend watching these films. R Squared films are known for low budget films of little quality. These other four films are more artful and symbolically meaningful than there American horror counterparts. In fact these films border on different genres.

You will also notice that Canadian horror films lack the gratuitous sex and nudity.

All five films are on one disc. Don't expect extras.

I didn't write a review because I couldn't get through the first flick. Therefore, I have to say that so far all of the Canadian films I've seen weren't worth reviewing. I previously purchased a Canadian Zombie set of films & they were pathetic. Just one person's opinion.
