1.0 out of 5 stars The only extreme evil here is on the part of the author
Bob larson stupes to a new low exploiting the deaths of teenagers in an attempt to sell books. Clearly the man doesn't care if his ideas are accurate or not. It's sad that he doesn't really care about those he exploits.

Bob Larson is a college drop-out who has made a lucrative career out
of fraudulently passing himself off as an "expert" in
whatever happens to be hot at the time. His only conceivable
expertise in abnormal psychology could comes from the years he spent
as a patient in psychotherapy; in other words, he has absolutely zero
expertise -- and even less insight -- into what could drive a Michael
Carneal or a Dylan Klebold to pull the trigger. But Amazon.com
doesn't want you to know that, because they's much rather have you buy
Bob Larson's utterly worthless book and feel ripped off at your
leisure.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Unheard Side of School Shootings, October 3, 2002
By
Chris (Ft. Worth, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Extreme Evil: Kids Killing Kids (Paperback)
In this book I first found the author to be very much an expert in this field. He lived very close to Columbine and was able to take a short drive there to be one of the first persons on the scene. He didn't flash around a big TV camera trying to sell advertising time, he immediately went to the kids asking them what happened, what they knew about those involved, and why it happened. He reports on the things that he found...the things the news and media would never dare say...he found the truth.

But this book isn't just about Columbine, it's a compilation of all the major and most of the other unheard of school shootings. Mr. Larson has documented in this book everything from a list of the times and places of these school shootings, to a profile of the lives of those who commited these unspeakable crimes. He then brings together all of the similarities of these incidents to find the "why's." He uses his findings to make a 'profile' of a school shooter and gives lists of warning signs that were evident in the school shootings of the past.

Does it work? Are his findings sound and true? Well, the proof of the book, is in the book. While this book was being written, Mr. Larson predicted in the book the profile of the next school shooter: everything from his background and homelife, to how and why he would act. Before he could finish his book though, it happened...another school shooting. Mr. Larson's predictions were 100% correct!

Do you have children, know children, or know someone who works with teens or young people? Buy this book for yourself and for them. I gave a copy of this book to the superintendent of our school district mainly because of the warning signs that are clearly outlined in it. I hate to read, but this book stuck in my hands until I finished it. I was absoloutely captivated by the findings in the book: the important things that no one else has reported on. I got the book for [$] and it was some of the best money I ever spent!

1.0 out of 5 stars My copy of this hardly deserves to be burned., July 5, 2011
This review is from: Extreme Evil: Kids Killing Kids (Paperback)
I picked this book up at a used library sale with the hope that it would shed some light on the causes of violence in young people that most people tend to look over. Contrary wise, this book was a good 13 steps in the other direction. This book only made me lose more hope in mankind to know that there are still stable adults with this kind of thinking. As I started reading I was a bit turned off at all the mentionings of of his faith and prayer and what not, but I figured I could stick it out through the book. I decided that enough was enough after reading his atrocious thoughts on behalf of Christianity in schools.

The situation: Young girls are in trouble for practicing witchcraft in school and then they are told that they've done nothing wrong on account of their freedom to practice their beliefs. Snide Mr. Larson though this would be a great opportunity to say how he thinks this says that [not verbatim] "This shows that as witchcraft and Satanism are allowed, Christianity is being pushed out of schools." What the hell Mr. Larson?! The teachers are not teaching it to them! It is not curriculum! He acts as though people aren't allowed to pray in schools.

He also claims that many people kill in the name of Satanism, but what about the large number of people that kill in the name of Christianity? If you add up the number of lives taken from Christian societies and held them up to the Satanic killers, I'm positive the Satanic kill count would be a lot lower. Christianity is not the answer (excuse) to everything.

I'm not sure what his warped and heavily twisted version of the world is like, but I pity him. I heavily pity him and I pity mentally stable Christians that are put in the category of "People like Bob Larson." I happy I have the sense to know that not all Christians think this way. Unfortunately there are so many people who waste their time trying to learn from the stack of wasted paper misleadingly named: "Extreme Evil: Kids Killing Kids." A more appropriate name would be: "Extreme Evil: People Like This Author Are Actively Influencing Others!"

I feel the world will be better off when more people put time into legitimate help books instead of this pious, paranoia-inducing pile of literary excrement.

1.0 out of 5 stars More of the usual., November 5, 1999

You really have to hand it to Bob Larson--he can take anything and attempt to turn it into a moneymaking venture. His latest, er, "work" is no deviation from the norm, except possibly in the sense that he's sunk to new lows in his quest to exploit anything remotely newsworthy for personal profit.

Briefly put, there's nothing worthwhile in this book. Larson wouldn't know an analysis of teen violence if it manifested demonically at one of his rallies; if you really want to know what causes violence among young people, try Dave Grossman's "On Killing", Gavin de Becker's "The Gift of Fear", or any of the other numerous WELL-RESEARCHED books on the subject.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disgusting Attempt to Exploit Violence!, June 15, 2000

This review is from: Extreme Evil: Kids Killing Kids (Paperback)
Bob Larson has really done it this time! The man who peddled Right-Wing Fundamentalist Propaganda throughout the 80s is back with a book that astounds anyone who thought this guy couldn't sink any lower! The mere fact that he actually states that Cassie Bernall (the martyr who died because she believed in God) will burn in Hell actually induced me to VOMIT! While I'm not a christian myself, I find that purely disgusting!

But this book if you're into trash. Everyone else, keep your distance.

When I bought this book and began reading I could not stop reading it! I have for sometime been interested in learning about how these tragedies occur and Larson gave me a great understanding of this,"Regin of Terror." in our society.

Absolutely brilliant. Bob Larson is clearly one of the few theologians who's both erudite and obstinate in his beliefs.

Bob Larson's explanation of why Cassie Bernall will be spending eternity in Hell is most fascinating. Professing faith in God is not enough. It must be through Jesus, Our Lord and Savior.
