5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the Greatest futuristic racing game out there!
This is definately my favorite racing game ever. No, I am not kidding. This is the kind of racing game I like. It has very interesting and awesome tracks. (Not to mention lots of them!) 2.0 out of 5 stars Great game, for about an hour.
The first hour I played this game I enjoyed it. The next time I played this game I turned it off in five minutes. Controling the motorcycle is so hard! The game is too dark, making it hard to see. On battle mode the car moves tooo slowly. Rent this one first!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the Greatest futuristic racing game out there!, February 21, 2001

This is definately my favorite racing game ever. No, I am not kidding. This is the kind of racing game I like. It has very interesting and awesome tracks. (Not to mention lots of them!) Tracks are the most important thing in a racing game I think, and from the gritty industrial look of Tox City to the huge skyline drop of Sensara, these are certainly the coolest tracks I have ever seen in a racing game. And they are not too dark, they are perfect. If you don't like them, turn the brightness up on your TV. (you shouldn't need to.)

This game also has serious speed. Breaking the sound barrier is incredibly cool. All the sound and music is drained out and you actually feel like you are going that fast!

When it comes to combat, Extreme G 2 scores high also. There is nothing like blasting five homing missiles up an opponents tailpipe and watching their bike lose control and blow up after leaving a trail of black smoke. There are also many, many cool weapons found everywhere.

Extreme-g 2 has loads of replay value, with its may different modes of play to unlock. I still don't know if mirror mode is the last, because I am still working on it! I simply love this game, and if you want cool futuristic racing with awesome tracks and weapons, buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Extreme-G 2, November 17, 2001
This review is from: Extreme-G XG2 (Game Cartridge)
Wow. I have to tell you, I am greatly imppressed by this game. The lighting and color are one of the best for the N64. The controls are the best of all racing games. The game play is totaly cool and addicting. You'll love this game if you are a fan of really REALLY fast racing. The tracks are amazing with great detail added to them. WARNING: If you want to play this game, you have to have serious cooridanation and reflexes. I mean you have to have extremely good ones. This games racers go extremely fast and sometimes hard to control on the track. When the racers go fast, it is hard to anticipate whats comming up on the track.

Other than that, this is an extremely good game with great lighting. Sometimes it gets a little dark and hard to see but sometimes in the game, you can pick up a headlight.

Overall, worth your money. I would buy this used but that's my opnion. Better than the first. Lots more options and racers and tracks!

This game is awesome! There are 36 tracks and they are all long and heavily detailed. My favorite ones are Tox City, Anville, and Sensara. It is so cool when you break the sound barrier! There are also lots of cool bikes and secret bikes, and all the different modes of play seem neverending! Every time a beat one mode, another becomes available! This game rocks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fastest game I have ever played, October 25, 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Extreme-G XG2 (Game Cartridge)
I absolutely love this game. The sense of speed is exilerating and is by far the fastest game I have played in my life (faster than f-zero). Nonetheless, a lot of people are turned off by the camera and disorientation effect, but thats the part I love. Guess it just depends on taste. Anywho, here I am eight years later and I finally buy the game. Still love it. This game is partially responsible for giving me ridiculous reflexes when I first played it. Trust me, get good at this game and your reflexes will increase ten fold. Nonetheless, I recognize that this game is not for everyone, but is most certaintly recommended for speed junkies. Just as a side note I still believe that this game is faster than XG3 and definitely XGRA.

I own several racing games but XG2 is truly the best! With loads of secrets and plenty of challenges it won't leave you with something to be desired. A great game for experts but I woud'nt recomend it for beginers and definetly not for a first game.

Great game quick pace. Battle mode allows user to use tanks. Game is hard to follow due to dark graphics and needs more flexbility on different views (inside, near, far, farthest). Cheat mode (sky view) does allow a different view but to far away.

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic! Need a new XG for PS3/360, May 1, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Extreme-G XG2 (Game Cartridge)
I had this back in the day and I just recently replaced my missing copy. XG2 was a much better improvement over the original Extreme-G. To me, this is the best racing game besides F-Zero X for the N64. World Driver Championship was the the closet Nintendo ever got to Gran Turismo so I was stuck on the futuristic racers. I've enjoyed every minute of this game.

I stopped playing video games for about 10 years and I finally bought the newer PS3/360 slims last year. My favorite racers are Forza 2/3 and Wipeout and I'm just aching for both a new F-Zero and XG to come out. With graphics these days, these two games would be a blast to play. As long as the developers don't try to over do them.

Anyway, XG2 is a classic and most already know this, so there's no need to really run my mouth about it. Enjoy.
