5.0 out of 5 stars The magnum opus of ghostbusting, much better than RGB
EP tapes are horrible but there isn't much alternative is there?

Compared to similarly good RGB, XGB is faster, more serious, more dynamic, more mature, better written, better directed and sometimes even funnier, with much more content per minute. It has real atmosphere unlike the comical ground of the former. This superb masterpiece can sometimes even reach...

This superb masterpiece can sometimes even reach gripping atmosphere and true senses of emergency in the storylines. Never was a serious GB fan until I saw this. This has done great things for the GB universe.

Well done. Two thumbs up.

Also, the negative review seen here have no basis and should be thrown out the window. People want information, not biased and immature rants.

This collection luckily includes my favorite of any GB animated episode, "Grundelesque" from EGB. Very imaginative, creepy and well written. Recommended even to non-GB fans as animated art.

I grew up with the Ghostbusters as being one of my favorite cartoons. Now that they've redone the entire series and put it on tapes is all the better! The kids I babysit for love it as much as I do. This is definatley worth the money!

While the Extreme Ghostbusters series is top-notch, this video falls below average because it was recorded in the SLP/EP speed - which is usually reserved for those "low budget" $3.99 tapes you find on the discount rack at your local supermarket. To make matters worse, Columbia/Tristar Home Video doesn't even tell you on the video box that it was recorded in this speed. Anyway, the episodes are at least worth the money spent on this tape. (Maybe we can all pray that they release this on DVD.)

I loved watching these cartoons, but I am very mad that they havent brought them out on DVD, I agree the tapes are horrible and not only that eventually everything is going to DVD anyway.

1.0 out of 5 stars A travesty, April 3, 2004
This review is from: Extreme Ghostbusters 1-3 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Take a really fun cartoon show like The Real Ghostbusters, cut out all of the major characters except one, and add "extreme" to the title for no reason other than a bunch of 50-year-old TV execs deciding that the word "extreme" makes a show sound cooler to 10-year-olds (which it doesn't). What is the result? Something incredibly stupid.

I want my Venkman and Ray, darn it, not these "extreme" losers!
