Ghostbusting in the new millenium!, February 22, 2001
This review is from: Extreme Ghostbusters 1 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This movie for anyone who loves the Ghostbusters and wants to know the continuing story of the Real Ghostbusters saga. The year is 1997 and New York hasn't been disturbed since the events of Ghostbusters II. All of the busters have retired and have gone their seperate way except Egon who lives in the fire house with Slimer teaching paranormal research classes at the NY college. Trouble starts when a new subway tunnle is being opened, releasing an ancient ghost named Acura. Egon tries to stop her but is infected by the ghost's disease. Inorder to stop her the students of his class decide to help by learning how to be Ghostbusters. From proton pack target practice to gettting electrical shocks the teens try to stop Acura but fail as well. Egon decides its time for a change, they build new equipment, a new look, new attitude and save New York from Acura. A great movie, seeing the Ghostbusters come back into the game is the best thing since the last movie and cartoon. Some great liners, "Who ya gonna call?" "You were doing the Linda Blair bit!" "Ghostbusters, I think we're back." See it and see the GB action again!

Extreme Ghostbusters an home video!, May 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Extreme Ghostbusters 1 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The EGB ae back in home video. Now you can watch the EGB anytime you wish. But, the film quality isn't anything you would jump up and down in the streets for. You see, the tapes are made in extended play, which is the lowest quality of taping speed. But, a must for any ghosthead!

While the Extreme Ghostbusters series is top-notch, this video falls below average because it was recorded in the SLP/EP speed - which is usually reserved for those "low budget" $3.99 tapes you find on the discount rack at your local supermarket. To make matters worse, Columbia/Tristar Home Video doesn't even tell you on the video box that it was recorded in this speed. Anyway, the episodes are at least worth the money spent on this tape. (Maybe we can all pray that they release this on DVD.)
