About the Author

Jerry D. is an award-winning professional portrait photographer, a licensed cosmetologist, a hairdresser, and a Photoshop® expert. He is a member of Wedding and Portrait Photographers International and is an active participant in their speaking circuit. He lives in Upland, California. Bill Hurter is the editor of Rangefinder magazine and the author of more than a dozen instruction books for professional photographers, including The Best of Portrait Photography, Children’s Portrait Photography Handbook, Existing Light Techniques for Wedding and Portrait Photography, Portrait Photographer’s Guide to Posing, and Simple Lighting Techniques for Portrait Photographers. He lives in West Covina, California.

More About the Author

Bill Hurter has been involved in the photographic industry for the past 30 years. He is the former editor of Petersen's PhotoGraphic magazine and currently the editor of both AfterCapture and Rangefinder magazines. He has authored over 30 books on photography and hundreds of articles on photography and photographic technique. He is a graduate of American University and Brooks Institute of Photography, from which he holds a BFA and Honorary Masters of Science and Masters of Fine Art degrees. He is currently a member of the Brooks Board of Governors. Early in his career he covered Capital Hill during the Watergate Hearings and worked for three seasons as a stringer for the L.A. Dodgers. He is married and lives in West Covina, CA.

This is a great book for a few different reasons:

1.) There is instruction on how to do make-up - something I know NOTHING about...

2.) The author walks you through what was done on each image...

3.) The books before and afters are simply amazing....

If you're looking for a fantastic book to help guide through the glamour retouching process.....this is a GREAT one. Take a look. You won't be sorry. It is FULL of excellent nuggets!

This book is filled with great tips and tricks for glamour and boudoir photographers. Numerous corrective techniques in Photoshop are shown in step-by-step, easy to follow lessons. Each chapter details a shoot with a different model, explaining each step of the process that created the final image. Careful attention is paid to accenting the models positive features and tweaking less flattering areas. Any glamour shooter who works with Photoshop would find much to learn from here.
