5.0 out of 5 stars dude....this book is totally freakin' awesome
Not only has this book enabled me to hold onto my position as the neighborhood maniac, it has given me new insight on how to carve pumpkins more efficiently, spookily, and with greater ease. Mr. Nardone is quite the cut up, and this book made me chuckle unendingly. The directions are simple, the layout is handy, and I find the photographs both detailed and quite...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great if You're Into GORE!
I like some of the pumpkins in this book, but most are just too gory or sick for me to even think about creating. I like, "Cannibal Pumpkin", "Property Defender Pumpkin", "Road Kill Eating Pumpkin", and "Conjoined Twins Pumpkins" (although I could do a much better one than the one shown in the book). The others were either too gross, sick or simply lame. "Moldy Beard...

p.s. This book is also quite inexpensive, so buying multiples of it doesn't pinch my pocketbook! Yowza!

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this book by Halloween and carve the coolest pumpkins in your neighborhood, October 18, 2007
This is the most creative, creepy and hilarious example of the pumpkin carving art ever published. We pay homage by stealing Tom's ideas: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? If only we could wield a reciprocating saw with the same artistic precision.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy Halloween!, December 12, 2007

I love this book! Not only are the pumpkin carving ideas amazing, but the guy has great suggestions with a good sense of humor. My only regret was that I ordered it late in October and I didn't get the book in time to pursue some of the projects for Halloween night. But it sure made for a great table book and conversation piece at my little Halloween get together. Next year we'll be ready to take some of these on! The photos are wonderful and we all cracked up, deciding which pumkin extravaganza was our favorite. So if you're seriously into having some Halloween creativity and fun, get this little book.
FUNNY!

5.0 out of 5 stars wickedly fun, November 24, 2007

This book is entertaining, hilarious, and is guaranteed to equally disturb your neighbors and make you a legend among the neighborhood kids come Halloween. Easy instructions to make one of the many bizzare pumpkins illustrated or to "take creative wing" and scare the bejeebers out of the neighbors! Put the fun back into Halloween-this book will show you how!!!

"Moldy Beard Pumpkin" was just a rotten pumpkin. "Drowning in a Bag Pumpkin" was just too sick - it's just too sick.

But, the book definitely awakens new ideas in my imagination, and I can create some super cool pumpkins of my own. This book doesn't come with patterns, but has very good explanations of how to create the pumpkins, what tools to use, vivid photographs of each pumpkin creation, and will your sick/gross pumpkin merit a call from the neighborhood association president.

The designs in this book are extremely boring. Even without stencils from commercial store kits, I can do better than what is in this book. Waste of money

This review is from: Extreme Pumpkins: Diabolical Do-It-Yourself Designs to Amuse Your Friends and Scare Your Neighbors (Paperback)
This book was a bridal shower gift, for a couple that needs help thinking outside the box when it comes to pumpkin craving. It should bring them up to speed at our next pumpkin craving party. Great book we all enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Ideas, November 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If you are looking to take your pumpkin carving to the next level - away from the boring triangle eyes and teeth cutouts, this one is for you. I really liked the creative designs and ideas with how to's and pointers. For example, I never would have thought using a Dremel or jig saw on a pumpkin until reading this. Using the Dremel this year, carving was a snap with smooth lines along the template. Lots of compliments fmo teh neighbors on this year's pumpkins.

I really enjoyed the "homemade" feel of this book. Some of the ideas are so simple you slap your forhead and say "why didnt I think of that?"
The hummor is great and if you dont want to do anything in this book its just enjoyible to read.
I would recomand this book and the other two he wrote, its worth it.
