It worked for me,
By A Customer
This review is from: Extreme Success: The 7-Part Program That Shows You How to Break the Old Rules and Succeed Without Struggle (Hardcover)
This is a fun and very accessible book. I have purchase several dozen self improvement books and I have found that they are generally enjoyable and informative. My problem is that as soon as I read these books I return them to the bookshelf and rarely put the lessons into practice. This fast reading book was easily digestable on the first reading. However, I also found myself picking it up and rereading parts of the book. In fact, and this is rare for me, I even did most of the exercises. Something about this book inspired me to take action. I am not a exteme sport athlete by any means, but I came to understand that the author uses them as metaphors for many everyday struggles in my life. Yes, some of the ideas I have run across before but this unique format illuminated these ideas in ways I could understand. If you want to change your life, open up to new possibilities, and grow, this book will be very valuable.

Uncommonly down-to-earth advice that's easy to put to use,
By A Customer
This review is from: Extreme Success: The 7-Part Program That Shows You How to Succeed Without Struggle (Paperback)
I REALLY enjoyed this book. In particular, I enjoyed its lighthearted, compassionate tone (in stark contrast to the "rah-rah, get-your-act-together, just-do-it" sort of theme that seems to be the norm for most self-help books). I also found it to be extremely reader-friendly, with many wonderful stories to illustrate how a new perspective, partnership, or strategy can be the catalyst for life-changing results. There's not one suggestion in this book that seems too unrealistic or difficult to implement. I understood and appreciated everything the author had to say and finished the book feeling like I could "leap tall buildings in a single bound!" It is really that good!

Wow! I have read a number of self help books and this is one of the best. To me self help and success are about being happy and fulfilled, not just about money (although money is a definite part of the equation). This book addresses most areas of my life that I am interested in making the best they can be. It has very pragmatic ideas and excercises. It's not just concepts, it's things you can actually put into action. The examples and anecdotes make it easy to understand and fun to read. Some well developed ideas I like included 'you create your own luck', 'if you seek struggle you will find it, if you seek ease you will find it', and 'FEAR Focus Explore Assess Respond'.

Do You Want To Struggle, or LIVE?,
By
This review is from: Extreme Success: The 7-Part Program That Shows You How to Succeed Without Struggle (Paperback)
If working hard directly correlated to creating wealth, then West Virginia coal miners would be the wealthiest guys on the planet.Persistence, patience, finding your "flow" zone and staying in it . . . these are the methods Rich emphasizes to create the life you really want. Whenever I encounter someone who "brags" about not having time, or complains of having every minute of their day booked solid, I think "How sad for them." The purpose of life isn't to work. The purpose of life is to LIVE. I strongly believe that working about 4 hours per day is the ideal to reach for. Whatever your goals, Rich's friendly, warm, genuine approach will help you achieve them. Sometimes the tremendous selection of self-help titles seems overwhelming. But this is for sure . . . you just can't go wrong with this book.

Are you ready to make a 180-degree change? Creating action around your goals is one of the key themes of this book. If you've read a lot of how-to books, but have continued to struggle at reaching your full potential, give this 7-part program a chance. I have used this book with clients. The author's style will put you at ease. His message is inspiring and transforming.

Worth its weight in gold!,

Rich seems to take the mystery out of success that enables anyone to succeed despite current or past setbacks. I've read quite a few other success books written by the likes Tony Robbins, NLP authors, etc., and they are all great, but Rich has found a way for you or me to take those small steps that eventually become giant strides without us even realizing it at first. By making sure that our lives are on their way being balanced Rich asks ourselves some tough questions (that are hard to answer sometimes) but really get the job done. Super salespeople ask the tough questions to their customers, Rich is no different. By being truthfull to yourself we enable the changes to take place that we want...not only on one level but on all levels. Much thanks to Rich for enabling me with the tools for Extreme Success!!!

A surprise motivational gem w/ X-games twist,

This review is from: Extreme Success: The 7-Part Program That Shows You How to Succeed Without Struggle (Audio CD)
I just finished the audio book and highly recommend it. I don't agree with the title's claim of getting rid of all struggle in your life, but you get some great ideas on reducing and dealing daily stress and guiding your life.I admit that I expected a cocky, loud and aggressive presenter (in line with the whole xtreme theme). But the author sounds genuinely concerned for my improvement and comes across with a calm authority and some great life guidance techniques. His voice pitch and tone are calming and the ideas presented are simple and clear to understand. The author takes the mantras and step by step techniques used in preparing for extreme sports (bungee, skydiving) and makes the crossover to put them to use in your own daily experience. Building and protecting your confidence is a main theme. Using your fear as a partner is great stuff too. He makes reference to forms and diagrams that are not available in the CD version. Hopefully they'll show up on his website. At times I have thought that I needed a shrink just to have someone to talk to about my thoughts. Turns out I need a life coach. I'm not crazy after all, just unclear of my objectives. A real surprise gem. Great job Rich- I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Finally, a book about success that I can relate to!,

This review is from: Extreme Success: The 7-Part Program That Shows You How to Break the Old Rules and Succeed Without Struggle (Hardcover)
I have read Rich's book twice, and I'm still in awe of how his words resonate with me. The first "magic moment" for me while reading Extreme Success was when I began reading the introduction and realized that what I had been taught, success was achieved through long hours, hard work and struggle, was not the only way. I had been living in the "Struggle Syndrome," and I was now ready to learn how to live without struggle. As I continued reading, I began to understand that life's struggles don't have to make me crazy with fear and anxiety. If I, as Rich explains, "neutralize struggle, redirect fear, and stay focused," I can turn a struggle into an opportunity to overcome my fear and anxiety and live a more balanced and fulfilling life. And, I can honestly say that I have since been living by this new philosophy and it truly works! Thanks, Rich!

Extreme Success is a great tool for helping you get moving in any area of your life where you are not living the life you want to be living. As a coach I use these exercises to help my clients face their fears and push to the next level. On a personal level I have used Rich's advice to push through my own limitations and achieve my goals.

Change your life-really!,
By
This review is from: Extreme Success: The 7-Part Program That Shows You How to Succeed Without Struggle (Paperback)
This is a great book for changing your approach to getting what you want in your life. When Rich talked about his clients BRAGGING about how hard they work and how little time they have, I saw MYSELF! When he described shocking them by not joining in with them and getting into a "martyr competition" with them, I realized that struggle is not noble, it is pitiable! This book has changed my whole thinking. Now when I find myself struggling, I use his techniques for figuring out better ways to accomplish my goals. The book is straight forward, easy to read, entertaining, well organized, and has great "Action Ideas" to actually get you using his techniques. It is unique in that it is so well organized that I can easily check in with my progress by flipping through what I have already read, seeing the highlights of the section, and remember the direction that I was heading when I read that section. Great book. Best "self-help" book I've ever read- BY FAR.
