George van Gelder and his four friends search for the Eye of Eternity, a priceless diamond buried beneath New York City. They travel high and low to find the diamond but every time they find something helpful, in comes a booby trap made by Captain Kidd, the head of pirates. Four of the children find a secret journal filled with clues that was Captain Kidd's, and it leads then into mischief and danger on their hunt for the priceless diamond.
The four children start out with one of the maps while searching to find Paul, the fifth child of the group, and he leads them to find the other three maps to complete their search. This modern day story will keep you going while you're bored, and will energize you with the exciting yet spooky and dangerous story that most kids would love to read. |
