Looking for a good fantasy novel but tired of dragons, elfs and trolls? This is the book for you. A "hard" fantasy novel of magicians in a real world, the plot, motivation and characters have enough depth to be interesting not shallow or superficial. A good read for a rainy day.

EXCELLANT!!!,

This book was the mainstay of my collection! I only noticed it missing recently (I moved) and I am very upset!
It is a delicious page turning adventure starring a man and his familiar (cat of course). It all started as an attempt to visit our hero's brother, but things get weird when we find the brother vanished! Evil is afoot and the chase scenes are excellant. I don't know why this book was taken out of print: It has been a favourite of mine since it was published!
