This review is from: In The Eye of A Storm (Audio CD)
This is an amazing album! Track 5, "A Touch of Frost," may be known to those of you who watched the detective series of the same title on PBS's Mystery! If you have heard and felt the eloquence of Thompson's emotive sax there, then get this album and come to know this fine musician and composer further; then buy "Breathless," one of her albums with Paraphenalia, and maybe move on to something by The United Jazz + Rock Ensemble, where, again, she plays her amazing sax. I am no musician, but I love jazz without being an arrogant jazz snob, and this woman just blows me away! I am reviewing this because my jazz musician brother did not know who she was, which made me wonder if she slipped under anybody else's radar. Maybe we Americans forget that some great jazz is made elsewhere. Some folks call a crowd when a house is on fire; I start testifying when I encounter beaty. Amen!
