Editorial Reviews

Canadian edition of the Mahogany Rush frontman's long awaited 2000 album. Haunting vocals, melodic guitar solos & sign of the times lyrics combined with solid drum beats & Arabic guitar tones make Eye Of The Storm a winner. Frank's true musical influences shine brightly on almost every cut. The Doors, Santana & even Pink Floyd are prevalent. Tracks include, 'He's Calling', 'Avalon' & 'Since You Came Into My Life'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome Back Frank Marino, September 7, 2001

GREAT GREAT GREAT, What more can I say about the first album from this great guitar pyrotechnician in almost 8 years. If you like blistering guitar solos then pick this CD up now. I have been listening to it for over a year now and it gets better with each listen. The tracks that really jump at you are He's Calling, Avalon, and Ordinary Man. Frank has come a long way over the years and you hear it in each and every track. There are Middle Eastern influences in some of the solos taken which give this CD a very spiritual feel to it. The lyrics on He's Calling and Ordinary Man show a man that has faced his adversity and found solace in his maker. So pick this CD up and put the headphones on and take a journey into guitar heaven.

5.0 out of 5 stars magical musician!!!, April 21, 2002
This review is from: Eye of the Storm (Audio CD)
Like many other fans of frank marino,I could hardly wait to get my hands on this cd! Since "FROM THE HIP"( which by the way is phenominal!! )I have been patiently waiting for the return of this master musician/songwriter. ... "Eye of the storm" is fast becoming one of my favorites! The lyrics of "he's calling",and "ordinary man",are inspiring to say the least. I was fortunate enough to see him in chicago on the promo tour for this album and his third song was "he's calling". As soon as frank began the intro, the hair on the back of my neck stood up and i was hooked!Awesome! What a song! This album is"fresh" and I encourage anyone who loves music as much as i do, to purchase this cd an let it enhance your musical mind!In my mind, frank Marino is one of the best guitarist of all time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Rock & Roll!!!!!, January 13, 2004
By
Brian L. Nash (Tucson, AZ United States) - See all my reviews

What can I say about Frank Marino that has not aready been said or implied. With out a doubt, he is truly one of the worlds best guitars players. For me that is saying a lot. From beginning to end Frank demenstrates how a guitar can be played. His guitar solos from "Eye of The Storm" and "He's Calling,"are without a doubt as intense as a solo he performed on an earlier tune called "Requim For a Sinner." Anyone that Who has chance to hear this mans work will come away with but one conclusion.. "Awesome!"
How would Hendrix Have responded to this incredible performer? I don't know! But I have no doubt He would have been honuored to perform with Frank and I suspect the feelings would be mutual!
Get this CD! You wont regret it!
