Great for adults and kids alike, August 11, 1999

This review is from: In the Eye of the Tornado (Disaster Zone) (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this -- and I'm 25. I rarely read children's books even when I was a kid. For someone with an interest in extraordinary intuitions as well as tornadoes, this book hit the spot! I might actually buy it...

This review is from: In the Eye of the Tornado (Disaster Zone) (Paperback)
This book really caught my eye. I din't want to put it down. This book has suspence.I can't wait to read Disaster Zone No.2 "In the Heart of the Quake." Adam and Stieg Atwood are out trying to warn some people that a tornado is coming. Stieg knows were and when but there is something else. There Stieg and Adam meet the "Edes" who were rivals to the Atwood family. They seem friendly but not trustworthy to Adam. Together they are going to try to help people from the disaster that is about to hit.

A gripping and wise book for boys., August 25, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: In the Eye of the Tornado (Disaster Zone) (Paperback)
This is a book both boys and parents can love. The heroes' struggles to evade their foes and save a whole town from an approaching tornado provide thrills and chills aplenty; the suspense will keep boys turning the pages. What sets this book apart from others for this age group is its emotional intelligence. The protagonists wrestle honestly with relationships, responsibility, and fear: they are funny, strong and brave, but not macho. And on top of all that, readers learn how tornadoes work. By the way, girls will also enjoy this book and the character Rachel, a self-possessed girl who proves indispensable to the protagonists' mission.

An excellent book for boys, August 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: In the Eye of the Tornado (Disaster Zone) (Paperback)
This is a book boys will learn from without realizing it. The two young tornado-chasing protagonists encounter scrapes enough to keep any boy's adrenaline pumping, while at the same time modeling problem-solving skills and an emotional depth and self-awareness rarely evident in boys' books.
