5.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly fun dance software
Groove is a great dance game that you can get with or without the eyetoy camera. If you don't have an eyetoy camera yet - this game is the one to get you to buy one!

3.0 out of 5 stars Eye Toy Groove
The Eye Toy Groove game is well suited to people who used to making a fool of themselves (like for the Eye Toy play) I loved this game but did not rate it as highly as the first Eyetoy game(which I thought was great), because it was less challenging. The best part about the game is when you are dancing, and the game goes onto another screen which records you dancing, so...

Groove is a great dance game that you can get with or without the eyetoy camera. If you don't have an eyetoy camera yet - this game is the one to get you to buy one!

This is like Dance Dance Revolution, but for the top half of your body. There are MANY great songs in this set, unlike DDR where I didn't really like many of the songs included. There are songs from all eras, all styles, from Elvis to Madonna to Jamiroquai and Kool & the Gang. I honestly liked ALL of them and had a blast dancing to them.

In essence, there are buttons that light up on the screen and you have to dance around in front of the camera to hit them. The buttons are large and small, in all corners of the screen, plus there are stars that slide. The songs start out on easy but you can move through medium and hard once you get the hang of it.

It is SUPER fun! We have had many people over to the house to play with it and they all wanted to buy one of their own. The songs are great, the dancing is great and you really get into the rhythm of doing it! It's a perfect way to exercise, or just to hang out and have fun. It's really addictive - you want to keep redoing a song to get better and better at it.

Not only that, but the game lets you play multiplayer competition games as well as just give you cool special effects as you dance around the room. Perfect to have running when you have friends over - just for background fun!

Highly, highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Super fun AND great exercise!!, June 7, 2004
This review is from: Eye Toy Groove With Camera (Video Game)
Eye Toy: Groove is incredibly fun! I was skeptical about how the gameplay would work until I tried it out at Best Buy and then I was SOLD! The technology is amazing, it really picks up movement well. You don't have to be able to dance in order to play, just be willing to flail your arms around like a fool. Multiple modes of play means it doesn't get too boring (although the song selection is somewhat limited - hopefully Groove 2 will be forthcoming). The songs are fun, though, not as good as Amplitude but much better than DDR. Once you get into it you can really get a great workout! Our arms and shoulders were very sore the next day, as well as our legs just from bopping to the beat.

Our only objection so far is that it seems you must enter your name after every single time you play. Since no controller is involved, you have to enter your name by waving your hands around and selecting the letters. For some reason these targets seem less sensitive, so entering your name wears you out at least as fast as actually playing. We just got the game yesterday, so perhaps we'll figure out a way around this as we keep going.

The day Eyetoy: Groove came out I bought it! It requires hitting, waving, swiping and a lot of movment! It even has a calorie counter so you can see how many calories you have burnt! Also TWO people can dance at the SAME TIME! Here is a tip for all Eye Toy players: when it tells you what to do in the beginning push start on the controller and it will skip it!

4.0 out of 5 stars EYE-TOY 2 (GROOVES), April 5, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Eye Toy Groove With Camera (Video Game)
The origonal installment of the game (Eye-Toy, Play) that became a nation wide phenominon, is nothing like the second installment of the game. The new installment (Eye-Toy, Grooves) is a game completly based on dancing and just goofing around! The game is some what said to life-simulate the origonal whack-a-mole game for the origonal SEGA game console. Although there is thought to not to be much to play around with in a life-simulating dance game, but this new sequel does have some rather fun bonus levels. Although much less exciting than the origonal Eye-Toy, play game this game is still definatley worth purchasing, once it is available for less money without the eye-toy camera included.

I purchased this games because what I really wanted was the Eye Toy camera that came with it. The game is okay. Some of the songs are a little bit for the older generation...but there are a few newer songs that I enjoyed. The dance moves only incorporate arm movements basically...but my husband and stepdaughter broke out in a sweat. With the camera catching every dance move and playback video, this feature was hiliarious. What is really kewl is that with the camera, you can take a still-shot of your own face and place it on characters in other games that support the Eye Toy camera. This was the real reason I purchased the game/camera. This feature is awesome. I only wish there were more PS2 games that supported the camera function....only a few out on the market. But, in my opinion, well worth the price I paid for this used item.

Come on! IT HAS 28 TRACKS! Get DDR Extreme. It has eyetoy support, ***70*** songs, many totally hip feautures, and that good ol DDR name. So you see my point? This is more like a quarter of DDR Extreme. (hmm. Which is what you pay for :0 )

Well, my work here is done.

3.0 out of 5 stars EyeToy Party! My House! Be There!, May 2, 2004
This review is from: Eye Toy Groove With Camera (Video Game)
Man let me tell you how good I am at this game. I suck at DDR but man oh man I can really tear through this one like tissue paper...WORD! If you've played EyeToy Play, Groove is pretty much the beats game in it with the cds and the speakers. Its a lot harder though cause the make you do different motion other than fist fist fist fist (you guys know what I'm talking about) It got REAL SONGS and most of them are REALLY BAD SONGS!!!! I just wish there were more modes to this game, its kinda all the same. But I'm gonna go practice and the try out for the next Wade Robson Project.

this game is dance dance for your arms. it is fun but not too challenging. all you do is put your hand in the right shape when called. and don't belive th create your own dance thing and the calorie thing and the two player thing and the songs are reduced. tçin create a dance, you make a dance but if the game dosen't like it, it comp0letly changes giving you a

pisicly impossible routine. this feture is better in dance dance. and the two player thing is complete nonsenes seeing as how it donsen,t tell you who should hit the marker which causes confusion and possibly colission. and the calorie thing geusses homuch you lost. and if you belive it, you better have good math skills because if you don't. youn won,t be correct, eve though you'll be wrong anyway. there is so much to say but my las sentances is the stars i gave this game are sympathy stars
