Product Description

EyeToy: Play 2 gives once again offers a variety of mini games that creatively take advantage of Sony's innovative camera technology. As with most EyeToy products your television screen shows your image and surrounds you with PS2-generated graphics that you either try to avoid or s***** or drag. In addition to the bevy of game modes are some other functions. The first is a silhouette mode where the EyeToy records the silhouette of your body and imports it into the backgrounds of the game modes, manipulating its shape and size. There is also a face profile mode where as you turn the image of your three dimensional head is recorded and can be imported onto computer models in Play 2 or games such as World Tour Soccer. You can also turn your EyeToy into a surveillance camera, taking pictures every five seconds of what it sees to be watched later, or can also act as a security alarm, going off when it senses a presence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great part of the PS2 collection, December 4, 2005

= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Eye Toy Play 2 with USB Camera (Video Game)
First, the Eye Toy camera does need to be set up with uniform bright lighting. Without it, the camera does not work properly and the games will be frustrating.

Second, I recognize that these are a series of mini-games and my expectations were that these were more "novelty" games rather than on the caliber of a serious action or role-playing game.

Third, the different games have their quirks. Some are very easy and others are still a mystery to me. Yet, I assume that various people have their own tastes anyway.

With all that out of the way, the eye camera and Play2 are great additions to the PS2 collection. It's hilarious to have people over and watch them try to "box" or "grate cheese". People who avoid video games like the plague can join in on the fun. I also have the dance mats and Karaoke games, but the eye toy is the most accessible to all levels of players. Even my son who is 2 yrs old asks "Mommy, eye toy, peas (he means please)...bubbles" He has even played the baseball game (with my husband helping by jogging the eye toy at the right time to help). He also enjoys getting his "winner's pose" picture taken.

For me, I couldn't believe the actual exercise that I was getting. I couldn't believe that I was sweating and that my arms were getting fatigued.

The biggest pitfall is the length of time for the loading screen. You also have to be careful not to turn off the game while it's in the middle of loading or saving. The file on the memory card gets corrupted.

Overall, if you don't mind getting off your rear and moving a bit, Play2 is a lot of fun espeically when you have company over.

A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Eye Toy Play 2 with USB Camera (Video Game)
I couldn't believe how fun this game was to play. I didn't think the games in it would be so fun. It turned out to be my favorite game. I recommed it to every one who doesn't mind getting a little sweaty because some of the games it it are a work out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best "Eye Toy" game in all time period, August 28, 2005

I have played it through it. It is very fun and cool game. It is very exciting. There are a lot of games in there like Mr. Chef, baseball, guitar and escape from the prison, etc. Every small games in this big product makes me feel great. My favorite game will be Mr. Chef. It is because it is so good and the graphics are so like a chef. Clearly, I feel that this is the best game in all time although the first one is good. However, the bad thing is I have to buy this whole package with the camera. If I had a camera already, I still have to buy "the whole package". No matter what, get it or you will regret it.
