Different than their debut, but a strong release, November 10, 2005
This review is from: Eyedollartree [Bonus DVD] (Audio CD)
First off, this isn't really a "new" album in the sense that it was recorded recently. Eyedollartree was originally slated for release in 1999, but the group's record label went out of business that week (ouch - bad luck). Anyhow, Blood of Abraham finally get a proper release for a great album, and the world benefits. This album has more of an organic feel than their 1993 debut "Future Profits". The tracks often have a funkier groove, while the lyrics are a bit more abstract.
Unfortunately, for fans of openly-Jewish hiphop, Blood of Abraham's 2nd album veers away from the Jewish pride that dominated their 1st album. If you want to check what's probably the best new Jewish hiphop album in ages, pick up Latino-Jew crew Hip Hop Hoodios' disc "Agua Pa' La Gente." In the meantime, you should still give BOA a chance and grab this record while it's still in print. Good work Benyad and Mazik!
