4.0 out of 5 stars Different than their debut, but a strong release, November 10, 2005

First off, this isn't really a "new" album in the sense that it was recorded recently. Eyedollartree was originally slated for release in 1999, but the group's record label went out of business that week (ouch - bad luck). Anyhow, Blood of Abraham finally get a proper release for a great album, and the world benefits. This album has more of an organic feel than their 1993 debut "Future Profits". The tracks often have a funkier groove, while the lyrics are a bit more abstract.

Unfortunately, for fans of openly-Jewish hiphop, Blood of Abraham's 2nd album veers away from the Jewish pride that dominated their 1st album. If you want to check what's probably the best new Jewish hiphop album in ages, pick up Latino-Jew crew Hip Hop Hoodios' disc "Agua Pa' La Gente." In the meantime, you should still give BOA a chance and grab this record while it's still in print. Good work Benyad and Mazik!

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Start, November 10, 2007
This review is from: Eyedollartree [Bonus DVD] (Audio CD)
This group is interesting. I do not understand why the release date for this was in 2005, but I copped this album at an underground joint in L.A.(at Canters), back in 1997. So the timing will strangle the tune, because this WAS truly Neo-Los Angeles-Underground hip hop. There supporting cast boasts some VERY interesting talent, should you venture to own this new vintage work of art.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Album You'll Never Hear, August 2, 2004

This album was never released because Blood of Abraham's label went belly up. BUT this is one of the finest hip=hop albums ever made. I downloaded it from Kazaa [unfortunately it can't be found there anymore]. I don't feel bad about that, because I would have bought a copy for all of my friends had it actually been released.

This is one of the few hip-hop albums you can listen to all the way through. Every song is good but that's not the point. ALL the songs save one [i'm not going to name it] are GREAT. Try to find these songs for your own good.

5.0 out of 5 stars mad fresh mad profound, October 29, 2000

yet another prolific monument stands bred from beneath the streets of the desensitizing metropolis of los angeles. open your eyes, ears, and minds as the lyrics and beats enthrall you and bind your consciousness to great perspectivals, leaving you submerged to drown, gasping for air at the end of the last track. this eyedollartree isn't to enlighten your stream-of-thought by means of a general self-proclaiming like a lot of underground is today. this is the reality that we live in, in a rare specificity, that the government is playing God. yet minds, such as boa, are intrepid enough to test the inner workings of our society, by exposing the beast. this album frightens those who dare embark on journeying within its mindstate yet opens the third optic to the point where "paranoia is awareness."
