A pretty good read, January 9, 2012
Tina Evan's child, Danny, is killed in a tragic and unexplained accident. One year later, Tina starts to receive frightening messages which suggest that all may have not been what it seemed at the time. Nightmares send her into screaming meltdown night after night. The housekeeper experiences activity which suggests that a poltergist is at work. A one-time dancer in big shows in Las Vegas, she is now a choreographer of what is hoped will be a huge hit show. Elliot Stryker, lawyer, and friend of her bosses, is intrigued by Tina and soon becomes embroiled in a horrifying series of events. Soon they are running for their lives. The suspense is good, the writing tight and the story reaches a fairly satisfying climax. The baddies are not terribly convincing, quite frankly, as there is a lot of "argy bargy" between two of them and Elliot which takes the menace off their appearance in the story. Elloitt Stryker, former intelligence officer, is not very intelligent in that he doesn't realise that his plane flight and rental car would be very easy to trace until the couple are actually fleeing for their lives. However, the ending is fairly satisfying, though unlikely considering the final revelations of what has really happened, but this was a pretty good late night read overall.

A good read....., July 14, 2010
I loved this book. I like pretty much all of Dean Koontz books. I like that they are easy yet challenging to read. Fast drama and excitement. Knowable characters. As I said before, I like pretty much all of Dean Koontz books.

FROM BACK COVER, April 23, 2008
This review is from: Eyes of Darkness (Paperback)
It is a year since Tina Evens lost her little boy Danny in a tragic accident... a year since she began the painful process of forgetting. Of trying to go on.
But today this shocking message appeared on the blackboard in Danny's room:
NOT DEAD HELP ME
Was it someone's grim joke? The tangible evidence of her own tormented unconscious? Or something... more?
The search for answers will begin now... A search that will drive a beautiful anguished woman and her compassionate lover through the neon glamour of Las Vegas nightlife, the sun scorched desert, the mighty shadows of Boulder Dam and the frozen towers of the High Sierras.
People will die now, coldly, brutally, while a buried truth struggles to the surface... a truth so incredible, so frightening, so dangerous that its secret must be kept at the price of any life - any man, any woman... any child...
THE EYE OF DARKNESS
