Book Description

After the loss of his wife in a bizarre car accident from which her body was never recovered, Trayton Bennett has created a diminutive version of the world in which he used to exist. The inability to cope with his loss coupled with a pervasive reluctance to believe that his wife is truly dead, has led him to push away what's left that remains important to him.

Four years after the tragedy, Trayton's life is again turned upside down when he uncovers evidence which suggests that his wife's accident was staged and her disappearance the result of foul play.

Oblivious to the attempts that will be made to stop him, and underestimating the abhorrent nature of the secrets that he will unveil, his desperate hunt for the truth begins...

5.0 out of 5 stars A great debut thriller May 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Eyes of the Many is a great debut thriller.

LAPD officer Trayton Benett is devastated by the loss of his wife, killed in a car accident. Her vehicle was found in the San Diego River, but not the body. Trayton resigns from the police force and works for a private investigation company, but the job means nothing to him. Memories of his wife keep haunting him. He looks at his copy of the police investigation file and discovers something that seemingly the police missed. The police refuse to reopen the investigation, and someone breaks into Trayton's house, stealing the police file and the accident reports.

Ms. Graham does a great job weaving an interesting mystery. The story flows well, with good character development. The pace is neither rushed, nor slow. The descriptions of the locales and the dialogue come across as genuine, helping the reader to feel the emotions of the characters and to see rich images of the scenes.

When Trayton and his friend Roy, a LAPD officer, meet with the San Diego Chief of Police, they find out that the police file has disappeared. Someone definitely does not want Trayton to discover the truth. But what is the truth and what will Trayton have to do to discover it?

"Eyes of the Many" is a thriller that takes place primarily in California. The protagonist is a man, formerly of the LAPD, whose life is in a shambles following the death of his wife in a car accident some years back. Unable to accept that she died because her body was never recovered from the river into which the car plunged, he is haunted by her memory until he finally discovers a clue that there might have been something overlooked during the accident investigation. This discovery leads him into a web of intrigue and danger from which there is no turning back.

The story is a well-written mix of high-tech intrigue, thrilling action, and personal emotional conflict that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. The characters, both major and minor, are nicely flushed out and tell their part in the story each from their own points of view in a way that is both satisfying and interesting. The plot is believable and interesting, without obvious holes or flaws. And the descriptive prose (especially scenes describing flowers, landscapes, and such) is very nice.

It's a joy to read a work of this caliber. I highly recommend "Eyes of the Many" to anyone who enjoys police procedurals, thrillers, and mysteries and look forward to Kelly Graham's next work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well-written May 3, 2013
By MRM
Format:Kindle Edition
A very well-written book by author Kelly Graham. The only thing that kept me from giving the book five stars was that some of the story was simply narrative, and I did not feel drawn in as closely to the story. Still, a good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A unique and exciting book! November 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am impressed by the fact is is the author's first publication. Normally I stray from anything related to sci-fi but when a bit of that genre crept into the story, I wasn't at all displeased. Rather, I was excited to find I enjoyed this aspect. I loved the fact that the story did not focus too much on extraneous details but rather gave the writer the information needed to move along in the story at a good pace. Looking forward to reading more from this author!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning Debut Novel - I Want More! October 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Dr. Frankenstein: I've been cursed for delving into the mysteries of life!

Dr. Pretorius: Sometimes I have wondered whether life wouldn't be much more amusing if we were all devils, no nonsense about angels and being good. - The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

Kelly Graham is one of those unusual authors - those who can make you think, while not even realizing it.

Eyes of the Many is in most ways an evocative thriller. The story of a man, a police officer in Los Angeles who, after losing his wife in an inexplicable accident, spirals into the wasteland of his mind, longing for answers, and for the wife he has lost.

Four years later, now an investigator for a private firm, Trayton Benett is a lost man. He has given up his friends, and lives from day-to-day, just paying the bills. And then, something remarkable happens. His wife isn't back - but is she possibly still alive?

What follows is a thrilling book blending thriller, mystery and suspense with an undercurrent of science which will open your mind and leave you thinking deep into the night.

Bad Leiah wants to tell you all about it, and what I felt about the scientific bent to the story, but I don't want to ruin it for you. Rather, I will simply encourage you, very strongly to read the book.

Highly Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars very good
Although I really enjoyed this book, it skipped between characters a lot and it made it hard to follow. Once it was focused on the main character, it kept me spellbound.
