Many of us tend to be overly trusting in what we hear and read. Bill Nye has a very simple but important lesson in this episode of his "Eyes of Nye" series: When an extraordinary claim is made, it should be tested and verified! The trickery behind multiple examples of false science, ranging from palm reading to fire walking are explained in this episode.

The episode is about 25 minutes long and broken up into several short segments, so it is very appropriate for high school learners and above.
