5.0 out of 5 stars Intense racing.
F1 World Championship is perhaps the most realistic racing game I've ever played. It is to auto racing, what "Falcon" 2.0 Spectrum HoloByte is to flying. These are the only two video games that have ever made me break out into a sweat.

2.0 out of 5 stars If you want a real game
This game is not realistic. You can break late turn late and still make the turn. this game got a lot of good reviews well here's the truth. If you are a F-1 fan buy EA SPORTS F1 2001.(for computer) IT's the real thing.IT has a lot better auido and viedo. you can really read the sponsers on the cars. It also has a Driving School, test day, quick race, championship, and Grand...

5.0 out of 5 stars This game is so fun!, November 25, 2001

When I first got this game I didn't know what to expect but once I got the hang of the controls I loved it. Racing in a full grand prix is not for the impatient, it's long and you have got to have the patience to sit there and go around the track a lot. When I first got this game I didn't know what to expect but once I got the hang of the controls I loved it. Racing in a full grand prix is not for the faint of heart, it's long and you have got to have the patience to sit there and go around the track a lot. If your looking for fast paced action I don't really think you'll find it, but if you want a racing game that's just like the real thing go for it! I promise you will not be sorry!

This game is really the first F1 simulator to really take advantage of powerful console technology. The graphics rival some games for the Sega Dreamcast (a *much* more powerful system than the N64). The amount of options make for a virtually limitless game.

Maybe the best compliment to be given, is that this game got me into Formula 1. Before I played this, I only vaguely knew what F1 was. But afterwards, I was hooked, and I've been an intense fan ever since. That should give you an idea of how spectacular this game is. Truly a classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars it's just a game....it's just a game....., December 30, 2001
This review is from: F-1 World Grand Prix (Game Cartridge)
Somehow I had managed to qualify 5th...WHAM! the race is on, I get a great start....I quickly make my way up to 3rd and 2nd place is just ahead of me, the first corner is coming up really quickly, I'm going to brake late and make the pass...I hit the brake and start turning, all four wheels lose traction and I slide off into the sand trap. When I finally get back on the track I'm in 10th place. I finished in 4th.

Wow. You really get into this game. It is without a doubt the best racing game I've ever played. The graphics are great, the physics are reallistic (execpt for crashing, it takes a lot to really mess up your car), and the courses are very challenging (especialy Monaco).

There is a lot of stuff you can do in this game. You can adjust the front and rear wings, the tires, suspension, gearing, stearing, and how much feul you have, and they all greatly affect how the car performs. If you don't know anything about cars you can select a preset for that track, and it will fix everything for you. However, a few tweaks will make you faster.

One very cool option is the 97 EVENTS option, which makes the weather work exactly as it did in the 1997 race season.

If you like games like Crusin' USA, you probably will not like this one. This is not an arcade racer, it is a simulator.

Gamespot.com said that there is a framerate slow down problem occasionly, but I haven't noticed it.

Once you buy the game, don't forget: It's just a game.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's more than a game, it's a life experience, August 23, 2000

= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

This is the best racing game ever to grace the home entertainment console. It offers a very realistic racing experience. This is no arcade racer, in that you will not be able to take a hairpin turn or chicane at 180mph. Almost as soon as you are on the throttle you need to be on the breaks. This is because every track that you race on is just the official F1 tracks. This only follows since the entire game has all of the official drivers and teams and most of the sponsors. Concerning gameplay, it is difficult to master, especially on Champion mode, but in the end, it pays. You'll learn to brake before the turn, aim the car at the apex of the corner, pick out the racing line, and a whole bunch more. Most of all, this game has had a profound impact on my life. ... When I picked this game, I wanted a really tough racing sim. What I ended up with was a newfound passion for F1. I am completely absorbed in anything remotely F1. I follow all the races, track all the drivers and teams, and immerse myself in the mechanics and physics of these monuments to technological triumphs. For a game to do this is simply incredible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aweome game, November 20, 2001

I thought this game had terrific graphics for the date it was released. It also is one of he few games that has full length races in the game. I am a NASCAR and F-1 fan and I recommend this to all race fans- this is excellent work. Also the high-speed thrill of the car keeps you looking at your TV screen for hours making turn-by-turn on some of the world's toughest tracks. Please buy this great game.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good introduction to F1, November 28, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: F-1 World Grand Prix (Game Cartridge)
This game serves as a brilliant introduction to F1. It should seem quite difficult to start off with, but after a while you will be hooked. The handling is quite difficult, but you are luckily able to adjust the gameplay to suit your level of competence at the game.

The graphics are pretty sweet too, however my one critism of the game is that the multiplayer option does not work well - as racing with only two cars on the track is quite boring.

However as a 1player game - it is fantastic.

If you look up the definition for 'details' or 'realistic' in the diccionary, you would probalbly fint F1 GP. Buy it, or rent it and see for yourself. It might be a little dull and complicades at the begining, but if you are a true F1 fan, you will love it!
