F-117 is the best there is,
This review is from: F-117 Nighthawk (Hardcover)
For anyone with an intrest in military aviation, this book written by Paul Crickmore and Alison Crickmore, is a definite addition to your collecton that has to be made. F-117 covers the entire history of the Stealth fighter, from original designs to Desert Storm and beyond. Throughout the book are hundreds of fantastic photos that can only be found in this book. With exciting narratives from the pilots who flew the first raids over Baghdad to the first test pilots who flew the aircraft over the deserts of Nevada. F-117 is the most comprehensive book on the aircraft and is a wonderful addition to anyone's collection. Aviation books don't come any better than this.

This hardback book was first published in 1991. At first, you think that this is going to be a "coffee table" book. Lots of pretty pictures, but that's it. It certainly does have lots of excellent color photos. Actually, this is a very good history of the development of the stealth technology, Skunk Works at Lockheed.
There are plenty of photos of the prototype bing built, walk arounds, cockpit, all aspects of the plane, weapons, nose art. The narrative is very good, easy to read, lots of stories from the pilots who have flown this "fighter" into combat - actually it is not a fighter, but a small bomber. It flies just below the speed of sound to help keep it invisible from enemy radar. I recommend this book for anyone interested in Stealth technology, history of the Stealth, insights into Lockheed Skunk Works. The author has also captured the "Goblin" (Pilot's nickname) has done in combat. It first saw action in Panama, the Balkans and the First Gulf war. Very successful aircraft, a fitting tribute to the creators of this plane & those who fly it.
