Not bad, but not good.,

Middle of the road is a term you could use for this game. It's graphically ok, with mediocre gameplay. Not bad for the price, but you can do better.

I had great expectations for this game. I felt I had done my "homework", I read all the reviews did a little research on the developers, etc., but this was not enough. I was sort of expecting a game with similar characteristics as the NES "Top Gun", I may be going back a little too far for some of you gamers out there, but that was a great flying/shoot'em up game for those of you who can remember and I grew particularly fond of the carrier landing part after every mission (oh, the adrenalin!). Well, I am sorry to say that this game falls way short of delivering even a fifth of what that game delivered. While the graphics are fine, the actual game play is....well.... just not right, as for the carrier landing after the mission, they are a joke! I would recommend you look else where to spend you hard earn money . There are plenty of great GBA games out there (i.e. Mario Kart and Advanced Wars) that are worth every penny.

Best Flight Sim Out For GBA,
By A Customer
This review is from: F-14 Tomcat (Video Game)
This game by far is the best combat flight sim out for the gba. It has what it takes for a great flight sim weapons, very good flight contrals, sound, and awsome graphics. But the story is not very deep you are sent out to recontral UN airspace. Other than the story the missions are ok but so unorignal. The missions are things like blow up 3 boogies, fire a cruise missle, and destroy 5 subs. Don't get me wrong there fun but nothing new to any old flight sim. The contrals are easy to pick up on and the weapons are ok to pick up. The sound is oh so sweet to the ears. There's no music but you can hear the difference between low engine power and high engine power. Thuds of bullets and wizzes of missles hurled at you and the ones you fire. The weapons contrals feel very good to me as if I were realy flying in one. The graphics are like that of a ps1 sim. There great, and you can see the engade enmies in front of you they're very fine and neat. You get weapon upgrades every new level so you have something to look forward to. Overall it's a game that has tremends replay value and great graphics.

This is a basic combat flight simulator. It is not an arcade style action game. Similar to the static simulators used at Naval Air Stations to train fighter pilots. This is a fun game to fill a few minutes of downtime and I keep a copy in my flight bag for just such moments.

What really smells about this game is the the fact that to save it you have to write down a really long password on a piece of paper and then type it all in the next time you want to play. And it's hard to steer the plane and you can easily crash into the sea without even noticing.
I also don't like how every time you have to destroy a ship or refuel they turn it into a "mission". For example when early in the game you have to keep shooting at a ship until it sinks, but you have to be in a certain range on the map so when you enter the range the screen fades out and then in and your repositioned to face at the ship and when your done the same thing happens. It would have been much cooler if you could have just approached shot at it and turned around on your own. Probably the one thing that I like most about the game is if you miss the explosion it shows up on your little screen inside the cockpit or when you fire a missile.

A very good simulator,

It is very cool that someone finally found a way to make a fighter pilot game. It has very good graphics considering the system. It is a little hard to see the enemy aircraft sometimes but the map lets you know where they are. It is very hard in the beginnign when you are masturing the flight controls because while you are trying to do that there are about a billion missils on your tail. The constant beeping to let you know that there is a missil on your tail is anoying because you always have a missil behing you. Even with this is still suggest that you buy this game.

This game is really cool because the graphics are really good and the game is really fun. It can get challenging at some times, but thats what the game is about. I like how realistic it is because you can actually land the plane and take off.

The Game Sucks!,

This game is the most generic looking and boring game I have ever played! This is like someones first attempt at making a video game.I had more fun playing the flight simulator on Activision Anthology.Every level is practically the same! Not enough variaty. The graphics should have been 10X better considering how little is shown on the screen at one time. The only good part is the sound(when using good headphones)and even then the lock-on sound is mixed too loud!Very irritating.I hate this game.

The game looks good on paper, but it's very difficult to play. The missions are pretty much all the same, and the controls are very difficult, and you can't really see your enemy even on the backlit screen of the GBA SP. Avoid.

Pretty Good Game,

This game is very good except at times, it can get a little boring. It's hard to locate the submarines and enemies. Other than that, this game is a really good game and I would reccomend it. The graphics are good and the controls are easy to use.
