This book is perfect for anyone who wants to model the F-15 Eagle. The book has some text, but most of the facts & data are found in the captions. The book has a great collection of B&W and color photos. There are some line drawings and color plates as well.

The Eagle entered service in 1974 and is going to fly at least until 2025. The book shows all of the upgrades, changes to the airframe, cockpit, weapons, landing gear, and engines. Other books, such as Aerofax F-15 have much more narrative about the design and development of the F-15, but the photos aren't as good or large as the ones in this book. Those "nuts and bolts" books are also more expensive.

I have a lot of books on the F-15 and am glad I bought this. I enjoy seeing the details of the plane and "watching" it change over time. Recommended for aviation buffs, F-15 fans & modelers alike.

I'm a former engine mechanic, crew chief, and quality assurance inspector on this magnificent aircraft. This book highlights some of the unique features of the F-15. Modelers will find a wealth of useful information. A word of caution for modelers though. If building a pre-MSIP (Multi System Improvement Program) F-15 C/D, except for the HUD, use the cockpit detail for the F-15 A/B, including the control stick. Pre-MSIP F-15's were not AMRAAM capable. After 1994, the center panel that covers the arresting hook between the exhaust nozzles (panel 128) was permanently removed. If building a 1991 Gulf War F-15C, 1st TFW aircraft were pre-MSIP with -100 engines and did not have the antena dome aft/inboard of the right horizontal stabilator like the aircraft on the cover. TFW F-15's had the antena dome. All F-15 A thru D deployed to the 91 Gulf War had the lighter, ghost gray, paint scheme.
