success may have been a thing of the past.
Brown’s fans around the world embraced him when he started releasing music on the internet, most notably the

Editorial Reviews

Following a string of consecutive R&B/Pop hit songs, three Grammy nominations and a well-received performance on Saturday Night Live, the stage is set for the release of Chris Brown s new album, F.A.M.E. The multi-platinum-selling singer/actor s Jive Records release is confirmed to be released on March 22.

Brown, a triple-threat as a singer/dancer/actor, has co-written on the majority of F.A.M.E, and has collaborated with a wide range of his peers including: Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Ludacris and more.

On this album some of the songs are more grown-up, says Chris in describing the album. There are songs from all genres: from street records to others that are real soul, 808 heavy that you ll hear in the club, and then others are strictly for the heart; songs that your mom and grandma can listen to and love. Collectively, F.A.M.E. is me giving fans every aspect of who I am as far as my art, my culture, and my concepts.

This album is great all the way through. No, he's not all the way hip-hop, R&B or pop-he's making his music. Look at the credits, its almost all CB, there's not a genre for that! He got classed where he did, probably because his songs weren't rap & aren't even close to candy coated pop. I loved it. His slow jams are just as worthy for turning up and dancing through the house. I have been killing these songs on pandora - finally getting the mp3 album to put in the car. There was a Fuse TV special that he really opened up and talked about this album & where he's taking his style.

Chris Brown returns somewhat anticipated with his 2011 fourth studio effort, F.A.M.E. (Deluxe Edition) After 2009's Graffiti failed to captivate the critics or charts (despite a random pair of Grammy nominations), 2011's effort matches, even surpasses Brown's high watermarked Exclusive-The Forever Edition, which included radio-critically acclaimed hits "Kiss Kiss," "Take You Down," "With You," and "Forever." F.A.M.E. arrives with its own interesting sound, serving as a melting pot of varying styles including overt R&B, pop, european-pop, and the recent electronic-R&B movement. It may not be a perfect effort, but there is more than enough captivating material to make this perhaps "Breezy's" best and most rounded effort.

"Deuces," the popular single appearing from Brown's `Fan of a Fan Mixtape' (with MC Tyga), is a welcome opener with its superb production work and smart songwriting. The explicit side of Brown truly unveils itself with this effort, whether it be his transition to adulthood or sheer youthful rebelliousness. Tyga and Kevin McCall are both featured on this excellent opener, one of the album's valedictorian moments. "Up To You" is another gem, produced by the Underdogs and adhering to a solely urbanized sound. The songwriting is sincere, contrasting the colorful expletives featured on "Deuces" in favor of: I'm not gonna be the one to mess this up, Cause I've been left up in love before, I'm not be the one who take the back seat girl, We can take our time...

Ah.We all remeber Chris Brown's media-shame a few years ago.
The only thing that could redeem Brown's career is a super hit-after-hit cd.

Chris Brown is a contemporary singer, which means he has an over cooked stew style of music. At best he is a POP STAR, he is definitely NOT AN R&B performer. Perhaps the other reviewers are too young to remember real R&B, but this album is not there. For the contemporary, repetitive style performers of today, Chris Brown does very well, but when compared to the true R&B performers he does not measure up to that high standard. His music is a blend of Contemporary, RAp and Pop, which some may call C.RA.P., but it does have a sound that sets it apart from many of today's performers. BUT CALLING THIS THE R&B ALBUM OF THE YEAR IS STREATCHING THE R&B CLASSIFICATION TOO FAR.

Never let it be said that Chris Brown don't know who to have on his discs. For this one, he came out bangin', and with the love songs, he had that edge. This is the type of cd that you play on your way to and from work and just bop up and down in your car seat. Yeah, he provides that type of beat. Now, some of his lyrics are explcit, like that tune WET THE BED, with Ludicris, however, it didn't bother me at all. I'm used to it. His cd provided the energy that I needed to start and end my day, and I appreciate it!

I did not like this CD as well as I thought I would. There were a couple of lame songs on it that I NEVER want to listen to...but I received the CD in great condition and in a timely way.
