Product Description

Product Description

F.E.A.R. Files is the complete stand-alone expansion pack series that features the all-new F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate campaign, as well as F.E.A.R. Extraction Point, voted "Best Expansion Pack" by PC Gamer, together in 1 package! F.E.A.R. Extraction Point kicks off where the original game ended. Once the hunter, now the hunted, the new mission is simple escape. All new locations, weaponry and enemies combine to take the F.E.A.R. franchise to new levels of action and suspense. F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate reveals a parallel story allowing players to take the role of a different F.E.A.R. soldier and battle new enemies that the original team never saw coming. It's an all-new experience that presents a different perspective of the events that occur at Armacham.

Product Description:

F.E.A.R. Files is a complete stand alone expansion pack that combines F.E.A.R. Extraction Point and F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate, the latest addition to the F.E.A.R. franchise, together in one box.

Includes all new single player levels, multiplayer maps, and story lines never before available on a console. Engage new enemies with a new, more powerful arsenal of weapons.

F.E.A.R. Extraction Point
In F.E.A.R. you aren't a soldier -- you are a weapon. A paramilitary force infiltrates a multi billion dollar aerospace compound taking hostages, but issuing no demands. The government responds by sending in its best special operations teams, only to have them obliterated. Live footage of the massacre is cut short by an unexpected wave of destruction that leaves military leaders stunned and in disbelief. With no other option, they send in the ultimate warrior: You.

F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate
As a member of a secondary F.E.A.R. team, you are brought in to discover more information regarding the secret project at the Armacham facilities. Expect the intensity of battle to continue in the second expansion pack to the critically acclaimed first-person shooter, F.E.A.R.

3.0 out of 5 stars More of the same. November 26, 2007
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
If you liked the original FEAR on Xbox 360, then you will like this standalone expansion pack. It's basically more of the same. I just got started on Extraction Point, and the thing that struck me right from the beginning is that it seems like a typical sequel. So far, nothing too out of the ordinary. The environments are pretty bland like the original. The gameplay is the same as the original. You can, however, start playing Perseus Mandate (which is brand new to the series) any time you like rather than having to complete Extraction Point first. The graphics might be a tad better than the original, but that's not really saying much. There are still your typical weird paranormal experiences splashed in with the typical fire fights as you roam through the typical halls of office buildings and churches. I didn't find myself being particularly scared like I did during the original FEAR. I guess I got desensitized. At any rate, if you don't mind more of the same you will be happy as a clam with FEAR Files.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is about as good as it gets for FP shooters -
Even though it is a tad silly at times, it really is good fun.
I hope another fear files is in the works - I'll buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars As good or better July 4, 2008
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The expansion pack delves a little deeper into the supernatural aspects of the original, and like the original goes and goes never seeming to end. If you liked F.E.A.R. I predict you'll enjoy the expansion packs tremendously.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Additions to the FEAR story August 6, 2008
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Ironic there are 2 stories in this pack that go completely different directions in the telling and they both pull it off nicely. Lots of great new weapons to play with and new enemies in both. I'm bursting to not spoil some of the great new weapons, but let's just say that you won't be disappointed. There is one early scene in Perseus Mandate I absolutely love. Of course Alma and her boy Fettal is back and again...you really don't want to play this game at midnight...boo. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars WoW! July 22, 2011

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Both FEAR and FEAR Extraction kept my attention from start to finish. A well put together game and very polished from the graphics to the action to the story telling. The AI was the best part of the game because they did things rather smartly in order to try and defeat me. I dont think any other game comes close to having good AI for the player to go up against, except for the Half Life series. To the team who put the game together, well done.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sexy walking in F.E.A.R.ville December 22, 2010
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
When it comes to the original F.E.A.R., there was something to say for the experience. The way the shooter came together and mingled with the horror element, making you feel like you were a little past that edge and slowly falling over. It had its flaws, too, allowing things to get stuck or to go awry or to glitch, but that happens way too often. The same things can also be said for this expansion pack, with a lot of the stuff feeling much the same way. I picked it up, played through a lot of it, and just got around to pulling a lot of it bakc out now. I guess I have had a little nostalgia kicking in lately, or perhaps it is Christmas time in X-Box land. Whatever the case, F.E.A.R. ad F.Files wanted to get out.

If you know the first game, you know this,. It is an extension of the first setting, going into a second outing. Some people really hated that because it had a lot of the same stuff. I personally enjoyed it because I thought it had more of the creepy elements that the 1st portion had, and it served them up while I was waiting for my second helping.

Going back, this is a purchase you might think on. F.E.A.R. is aging and it has some stickman qualities in a lot of rights. It isn't bad but it isn't new, and that sometimes hurts the flashing back to th good old games. If you find F.E.A.R. amazing, however, and you just need some more of it, then jump on to this and ride for daylight. It is a nice game, deserving of a 4 star rating in a lot of respects because it is good. It wa snot realy a new title, not a complete them, and not something that just said "I am the newest and the greatest." It also didn't say that when I saw it touted, instead pricing itself as more F.E.A.R. in an extended setting.

5.0 out of 5 stars For fans of the original March 15, 2014
Verified Purchase
If you liked the original F.E.A.R., you will probably like this expansion pack a lot. You don't have to own or have played the original to enjoy it though. It's completely stand alone but it does help to have some background in the story. I played the original way after it's release and I'm playing this even farther from it's release but both games have a great oldschool FPS feel and entertaining game play. If you don't like slightly dated games then stay away but if you still enjoy going back to last gen games then it's worth buying, especially at the very low price it's offered for now. It never won any awards that I know of but it's addictive and a great way to burn a few hours.

I just recently finished FEAR and I must say it was an awesome journey. The physics, and the blood spatter were magnificent. The "Fear Factor" was spot on. I was very excited to play the FEAR @ once I finished part 1, then I found out there was an expansion pack available.....Woo Hoo!!!

No Disappointments here, at all!

The Great gameplay continues. What a franchise! Awesome Game!!!
