F.E.A.R. is a good game and I don't know why people are fussing so much. Now I have to agree with everybody that, yes the graphics were shocking and lacked the proper fruit of what the PS3 can dish out. The story line is not too enticing either. But the gameplay is astounding. I think that people can look past the polish and glitter aspects of a game and appreciate this one for its action-shooting thrills. The blood effects were very well developed. The art of every weapon is very well detailed. It may not be creepy, but can drive the imagination. All in all I think if you like action and shooting games F.E.A.R. will serve you plenty of fun.

I've been playing this for about 3 hours now and i have to say this game is worth every penny. I'm a big FPS fan and this is up there with Resistance. The game runs smoothly, load times arent too bad, and its just overall fun. The AI is very good and the scenery looks really good. The game itself is kind of creepy. I give the game 4 1/2 stars, it loses 1/2 a star for the maps, they can get kind of confusing sometime with not much help as to letting you know where to go, but if you wanted for a while you will figure it out. I recommend this game to anyone who likes this type of game, its definately worth it.

Despite the bad reviews of this game for the PS3, I think that it is a really good FPS game. There is really no difference from the other versions of the game except for this version has a new level and gun. I think that it was a great buy, and I am looking forward to purchasing F.E.A.R. 2 for the PS3. Oh and the slow motion is siiiick!

I bought the PC version a year or so ago. Started to play this scary game and then a few days later my computer crashed (for other reasons). I gave away my copy to my brother, since I no longer had a PC. Next I bought a copy for the PS3. Indeed the graphics do appear crappy compared to other versions. I quickly forgot about this because the gameplay is quite unique and captivating. Definitely a scary game with a fun story. The slowMo feature is a lot of fun too, you end up using it to get out of tight situations and makes you feel like someone from the Matrix (bullet time).

People can say what they want about the graphics in this game. Theyre right, if you play call of duty 4 right before popping this in youre not gonna like it. But if you actually play the game you realize just how awesome it is. Sound effects that make the hairs on your neck stand up, and gameplay that makes you not want to put the controller down. The story behind it could be compared to like The Ring mixed with Resident Evil but twice as scary as both. I played this whole game alone in the dark and it freaked me out. My little brother even refused to play it cuz he was too scared lol. Bottom line, pick it up if you like suspense you wont be disappointed.

I have to agree with the general concensus. The graphics overall are 'eh' ok. I thought the graphics did get better further on in the game and they are enhanced when in 'focus or slomo' mode. It's not what I hoped it would be but once you master the techniques it is very fun to play. I would recommend renting it first but give it a chance. I'd say 3-5 hours of gameplay should tell you if it is a game for you. I've beaten it once and am playing through a second time on a harder setting. The story is interesting and there are a few creepy spots in the game. Play it in the dark late at night.:)

First, I have never played this game on the PC, so I wont be able to compare it to that. Also, I don't own an XBOX 360 and I am not here to compare the merits or shortfalls or either platform. The only other game I can compare it to is Resistacne: Fall of Man. Compared to Resistance this game falls way short of what I wanted. The graphics are WAY SUB PAR for the PS3 and almost embarrasing when compared to Resistance. The levels are confusing and the enemies are predictable. I was really excited to get this game and have been horribly dissapointed. If the graphics were up to snuff I could tolerate it, but I felt like I was playing a PS2 game. Unless you loved the PC version, save your money.

I had an absolute blast playing this game. When I saw the rating for it on here, I was a bit surprised to see it had three stars. After reading the reviews, it had a lot to do with the graphics. Ok, so the graphics weren't the the best for a PS3 game. I get that, but did you have FUN playing it? Most people did! I'm one of them who did. The storyline was wonderful and the action is non-stop. It played out much like a movie as you go through it. As for scary, I would definitely say so. Some parts of the game will certainly make you jump out of your skin, and Alma is creepy as heck. Give it a try and see for yourself. Don't let the graphics fool you. This is a GREAT game!

I play a lot of first-person shooters, and, although this game's graphics don't compare well to newer same-generation-console games, this game is still tons of fun. Since that's why I play games, I gave this game 5 stars since it is as much fun or more fun than the others. It has a perfect feel to it, good enemy AI, and a really good balance between being too difficult and too easy. Fun!

This game was really fun and innovative when it came out on the PC in 2005. Unfortunately it didn't come out on the PS3 until two years later and was already out-dated by then.

It's a really cool game though.
