Definitely recommend this book. This book touches tons of American history starting from the end of the Civil War, World War I and II, Spanish Flu, prohibition, Presidents, Labor Laws, Civil Rights, Woman's suffrage movement etc. The dramatic and sad lives of the Woolworth Family are also inter-woven throughout the story during these tumultuous times. Not only does this book offer a mini American history lesson, but it also describes the perils of great wealth bestowed on the Woolworth heirs and how negatively their lives were affected! Very enjoyable read.
