From the Inside Flap

Frank was famous in Boston for his expert investigative skills, his unorthodox techniques, and the fact that he was a werewolf. Known as “The Loose Cannon,” he had caused his share of destruction and chaos in his quest to rid Boston of crime. Unlike your everyday werewolf, Frank had what doctors termed “Inverse Lycanthropy,” a complete reversal of the Werewolf effect, giving him a half human, half wolf appearance, and a rotten temper all of the time. Ryan was human, promoted to detective by Internal Affairs. His first assignment was to investigate Frank. Posing as the werewolf’s new partner, wrestling with his own guilt and insecurities as a cop and as a spy, he had to assist Frank in a murder investigation while simultaneously gathering evidence against him.

As Ryan and Frank search for answers, they discover that the governor could be the next target in a string of murders. With the politics of Boston hanging in the balance, the partners must tolerate one another long enough to find the killer before he can strike again.

4.0 out of 5 stars F as in funny!, May 15, 2001

This review is from: F as in Frank (Paperback)
F as in Frank is a new and very funny take on the Werewolf story.
Frank is a Boston homicide detective who happens to have a rare form of lycanthropy. Frank is also a loose cannon and his bosses want him out of the department.
Frank's new partner is in on the conspiracy against him but would rather not screw over a fellow cop if he can avoid it. Together they try to solve a bizarre murder in the public library while trying to keep Frank from getting fired or killed.
This is not your father's beantown either, Boston is just another wild character in the story. After the explosive finale, I really hope that there will be more of Frank in the future.

It is refreshing to see a first published work of this calibre! Mr. Page has captured the essence of Boston, added a dash of sarcastic punch and stirred in a touch of mythos to leave the reader wanting more; always a good sign of a talented author. I eagerly await his next venture!

I found F as in Frank to be an exciting, intriguing, and mysterious book that was hard to put down-the ending being dramatic and nothing I had anticipated.
