5.0 out of 5 stars jkwaggener/F1 2001, November 11, 2001

Wonderful, wonderful game, as an owner of F1 2000, and Grand Prix 2, this game is definately a winner, if you have a machine with alot of horsepower that is. Stunning graphics, if you have the horsepower that is. I have a 1.2Ghtz Athlon Tbird, running 266Mhtz FSB, W/512MB PC133 SDRam, and a GeForce2Pro w/64MB of DDR, and a ATA100 drive. With all graphics options maxed out I needed to set up my AGP apperture to 128MB in the bios for seamless and stunning game play! Blows all others I have played away

5.0 out of 5 stars It's like being Mika Hakkinen, October 1, 2001

I just saw this game this past weekend at the SAP tent at the U.S. Grand Prix in Indianapolis. Their set-up included a mockup McLaren Mercedes cockpit with a flat panel on the front (just like the drivers have when they'r ein the garage!) and then pumped up to a huge projection screen so other race fans could see how you were doing against Michael and Rubens. I would have to say that this was the ONLY way to experience the game, but if you settle for a wheel and some pedals at home, this game is still spectacular. I can't wait for this to be released to the public!

3.0 out of 5 stars Save your bucks for GrandPrix 4, April 15, 2002

The 3 stars are only for the GRAPHICS.

I earlier reviewed this game after two weeks of its purchase, may that`s the reason i was so exxagerated in judging the game, but when we go deep into the game, one will definitely asuure that this game only a Graphics oriented game and not a true F1 sim. GrandPrix 3 is far more superior in the Physics section and a quarter behind in graphics, but for a true F1 simulator, this isn`t an issue, he looks only for the game play rather than keeping on looking how the car ahead of you looks. Is the rear wing blue in colour or is the wheel having the correct 4 strands as a standard F1 car`s or are the sponsorers` stickers correctly placed in the right place. These are some sticking points which force the buyer to buy this fade-away game.
I first got irritated by seeing all the cars pass by in the 4th and 5th turns in the AUSTRIAN grandPrix where as they can`t come closer to me in the left over turns that are the 1st 2nd 3rd 6th and 7th turns. This is real annoying to F1 gamers.
The same AUSTRIAN grandprix with updated textures is very challenging to drive in GP3 in the same 4th and 5th turns. But even though i try my balls out to drive in the turns in F1`2001 I can`t maintain speed even in the ROOKIE level.

So, finally i pledge to all my Co-F1 hardcore gamers to save their money and wait for Granprix 4 to be released in April - May.
Gp4 is said to be having all the ingredients of F1`2002 except the 2002 drivers, but anyhow you can download patches that keep the game updated.

So look for the best perform-er and not the best Show-er.
