This review is from: FANNY CROSBY [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I consider it a great honor, to be the first to review this biographical drama about the life of Frances Jane Crosby, known to the millions as Fanny Crosby, and Aunt Fanny. Ms Crosby though blind was not disabled as one might think, and could do as much, or more than a person with sight. Ms. Crosby considered being able to see a bigger handicap, for without sight one sees past their normal prejudices, and therfore only care about what really matters, the heart. If you are a person of the christian faith, this film will touch your heart, for you probably sing Ms. Crosby's songs in your church such as; "Blessed Assurance", "Jesus Is Tenderly Calling You Home", "Praise Him, Praise Him", and "To God Be the Glory". Ms. Crosby was born on March 24 1820, and unfortunatley due to a doctors mistake in treatment, Ms. Fanny Crosby lost her sight at only 6 months of age. Ms. Crosby's life was one of much happiness and despair, she married a music teacher, who worked with her at the school for the blind. Having only one child, it tragically died as an infant, but thriough all the heartache and tears Ms. Crosby kept her faith. Fanny Crosby died peacefully at the age of 95 on February 12 1915, Ms. Crosby belived it wasn't enough to have a song on your lips, you also needed a song in your heart. In conclusion, I would reccomend this film to any family who loves stories of faith and devotion, to our lord Jesus.

(Throughout the film you'll hear glorious songs wriiten by Fanny Crosby, and sung by George Beverly Shea, it just doesn't get any better.)

P. S. This film, if searched for on DVD will not be found. However, there is a lesser, and not quite as touching 46 minute film version, also titled "Fanny Crosby", but I'd stick to this one.
