5 of 6 people found the following review helpful By Kim Drnec on October 28, 2009
Format: Paperback
This book breaks down animal use in science so the nonscientist can understand it. Unlike all the propaganda, by both sides, this book honestly addresses all the scientific issues about animal research without discussing ethics. The authors conclude that animals can be used for many things in science but they cannot predict human response. This has major implications for using animals in medical research and disease testing.

I find this book to not only be honest but highly informative. Written in terms a layperson like myself can understand. I have read it twice, and anticipate that it will continue to be a great source of information in our home library.
