Book Description

FAR/AIM series December 1, 2004
These handbooks present the latest civil aviation directives gathered from the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM) for pilots, flight crew, and aviation maintenance technicians. All regulations that have changed since the last release are precisely marked and indexed to provide a clear listing of subject matter and to refer pilots and staff to the correct paragraph or regulation number. The FAR and AIM sections are reproduced in reset type for easier reading, and the AIM features detailed, full-color graphics. A suggested study list is provided, along with a helpful list of the addresses and phone numbers for the FAA, National Transportation Safety Board, National Ocean Service, and Flight Standards District Office.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lack of Indentation, January 20, 2006

It makes it even more difficult to read, as IMHO, subsections should be indented. Much easier to read if that were the case.

Don't believe me? Pick up the Jeppesen version. You'll understand more, and you'll go to sleep even easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yep, it's that good!, January 6, 2005
This review is from: FAR/AIM 2005: Federal Aviation Regulations, Aeronautical Information Manual (FAR/AIM series) (Paperback)
Ha! I couldn't agree with the first reviewer more! But seriously kids, take it from a CFI: this is probably the most handily packaged/formatted FAR/AIM publication available for the GA or charter pilot. And what a page turner!

As Lynn Freeman wrote in a recent issue of Plane & Pilot, this will help put you to sleep at night. There are enough changes annually (like sectional charts) to make this subscription worthwhile. Sporty's Pilot Shop carries this edition now at 1/2 price: $7.98 plus save 5% with your AOPA credit card. An AOPA member, student pilot, recipient of Rich Stowell's Emergency Maneuver Training (fantastic book and even better with actual instruction), and Champ owner/maintainer...
