The RetroEdge has two functions. The first function is to protect the edge of a laminate countertop from being chipped by a chair, door, or other hard edged object. The second function is to cover up the edge of a top that is chipped from years of use. For application, Fastcap recommends 1" Speedtape. This L-shaped product measures 1/2" on one leg and 3/4" on the other and is shipped on a 25' roll.
