5.0 out of 5 stars FAVI TV
Love it. First saw the TV in an email from Amazon. Initially ignored, as I tend to steer clear of such "too good to be true" offers, but I kept going back to this offer, and finally went for it and purchased the white model. I'm so glad I did. TV picture is crystal clear and a joy to watch. Audio is clear. Setup in about 2 minutes flat. Super narrow profile, and...

1.0 out of 5 stars update
Purchased this TV as a Christmas present for my family. Shipping was fast and TV arrived in perfect shape. Once installed, picture was great. After 45 days, the screen has developed a 10 inch line across the upper third, resembles a bar code. It looks as if the line is slowly moving down. I have been unable to find a telephone number for tech support. I did find a...

Super narrow profile, and lightweight, and looks good too. Have not found the code for the FAVI brand yet to program into my universal remote, so I am using 2 remote controls. And everyone who has seen it (frequent visitor traffic through living room to my son's room) stops and remarks "Good looking TV. Great picture."

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Purchase!, September 7, 2010

This review is from: FAVI L4226EA-BL 42-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV, Jet Black (Electronics)
I purchased this television about 4 months ago and I absolutely LOVE it! The picture quality is great and it will adjust to the best quality for the channel or movie you may be watching. When I watch Blu-Ray vs. DVD discs, the picture quality automatically adjusts and there is a noticeable difference. The setup is also nice. The stand swivels so that you can turn the television to access the input connections in the rear of the television easily. There are multiple input connections so you have enough of them to connect all of your DVD, Blu-Ray, gaming, and cable essentials. The LCD screen is amazing compared to the standard television. It actually took me a while to get used to the lighting because the difference was that noticeable. It gives one of the clearest pictures I have seen, and I shopped around for a while before finally purchasing this television. The price is unbelievable for the quality!

Another thing that many people seem to be upset about is that it will not work with their satellite remote because there is not a code for it. There is a way around this. If you connect your audio cables from the television to your cable or satellite box, you can use the sound feature on your cable or satellite remote. This especially works well when you add surround sound, because all you need to do is connect the surround sound to your cable or satellite box and then connect the box to the television using audio cables. You will need to turn the sound on the television down with the Favi remote, and then you will be able to use your cable or satellite box remote instead. In addition, if you have a HDMI connection on your cable or satellite box, you can use that instead of the audio cables. I have been doing this and I have not had any problems with it!

Update- 4/23/2011

The TV is still working great! I have not had any issues with it and I have even moved since my last review. I did want to mention that since the warranty on this product is only one year and I believe only 90 days for full service, I would suggest getting an extended warranty through Squaretrade. When I purchased the TV, I also purchased a 3-year warranty through Squaretrade. They have a full replacement policy and I like the security of the extra warranty. (You can purchase this through Amazon too!)

1.0 out of 5 stars update, March 9, 2011

Purchased this TV as a Christmas present for my family. Shipping was fast and TV arrived in perfect shape. Once installed, picture was great. After 45 days, the screen has developed a 10 inch line across the upper third, resembles a bar code. It looks as if the line is slowly moving down. I have been unable to find a telephone number for tech support. I did find a e-mail address and I am waiting a response. I feel purchasing a new TV would be better than trying to repair this one.

Update

Contacted tech support by e-mail twice, no phone number listed, never got a reply. This was March 15, I guess this is a lost cause.

UPDATE

Favi sent me a new or refurbished mine, paid for the shipping both ways. Had it in the box for 6 weeks until I got someone to swap it out. On Friday July 15, picture started flickering, Saturday, no picture at all. I really don't want another Favi TV, even if they offer one. I guess I am just out the money. Will post if I get a refund of any kind.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worked for almost a year..., April 4, 2011

I purchased this TV in May 2010 - it was a great price and the biggest white television I could find. It is very sleek, great picture, and my only initial complaint was the outdated looking remote control (and no codes to program a universal remote). Well, a week ago, I was watching Dancing with the Stars and the TV suddenly turned off. My husband was watching TV in another room, and his TV did not turn off. We checked the cables and everything you could possibly think of, and the TV is dead. We didn't even use it on a daily basis. I am so disappointed, and I agree with another reviewer that I would rather purchase a different TV brand than try to get this one repaired. Sometimes, things really are too good to be true-- buyer beware!

Purchased as a warehuse deal for $500, and hoped for the best. The TV is great, crystal clear picture puts our other TV to shame. We have DISH and they were able to get their new red eye remote to work, so we only use one remote as opposed to two as others have had to resort too.

5.0 out of 5 stars FAVI White 42 inch LCD, November 23, 2010
Every now and then you purchase something and feel you received a great deal. Well I just recently had that experience. At first, I was a little hesitant about purchasing electronics over the web without first seeing the quality in the store. However, this LCD was such a good price I had to check it out. Not to mention my wife really wanted a white TV to go along with the crown molding in the living room. Long story short, in my opinion the picture is brighter and just looks better than my Panasonic that we have in the basement. I would highly recommend this product.

I have now purchased two of the exact LCDs. (One for us and one for my wife's parents.) Also, I want to add we have Comcast HD TV in our area. Just in case you were wondering.....

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware!, July 11, 2011

(REAL NAME)
I purchased this TV on 1/31/2011 for use in our summer home. It had no more than 60 hours of use, all watching DVD's. Around July 1 it stopped working. The manual had no warranty info. No phone number, no e-mail address, no warranty time period. I had kept the shipping paper and it had an e-mail address. I sent an e-mail stating my problem. I received a reply that the TV only had a 45 day labor warranty and one year parts. They wanted me to send the tv back to them at my expense plus $120 labor, plus $100 return shipping fee. I figure probably $60 to send it to them plus I had thrown the original box away. That would be at least $280.00 out of my pocket minimum. I paid $597.00 for the TV. They have no contracts with any other repair stations in the USA. After a conversation with their tech support they were willing to wave the labor fee, but I would be out a minimum $160.00 in shipping costs. I told them If they would send me out a new tv, I would pay for the shipping plus ship the old tv back in the box and pay for shipping on that as well. They refused!

I have never purchased a tv with less than a one year parts and labor warranty, in fact I purchased a new Samsung to replace the FAVI and it has that time period plus local repair outlets to take it to if something went wrong instead of spending a fortune in shipping costs.

The TV has a very nice picture and I only bought it from them because I wanted a white tv and there was only one other choice that was $200.00 more although it was 46" instead of 42".

I am going to check locally for a repair shop and see if I can get it fixed for under $150.00 if not I will donate it and will have learned a valueable lesson about purchassing an off brand tv (made in China) over the internet.

Update on 7/15/11. They have agreed to refund me $300.00 to get it fixed at a repair center of my choice. I have decided to keep the $300.00 and donate it as-is to a local breast cancer recycling center. I have learned my lesson to never buy off brand electronics over the internet again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Favi TV Review, April 15, 2011

This review is from: FAVI L4226EA-BL 42-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV, Jet Black (Electronics)
I love the 42 inch HDTV by FAVI It has a beautiful picture and allows for HDMI and VGA connections. And the set up was so easy, I couldn't believe it. The reason that I didn't give it 5 stars, is because I can't use my Comcast remote to operate the TV because FAVI didn't include a code for the cable remote to be used. This means that I have to use 2 remotes to operate the TV. I'll live! :-)

Our family has had the same old 19 inch TV for 10yrs. I hated it because it took over the living room and we didn't even watch it that much. The FAVE 42 inch has changed my leisure time, I could watch netflix movies all day if I could. We bought it for under 600.00 and the sleek outside looks amazing with my rustic meets modern living room. It eliminates the glare from the west Texas sun we get in the afternoon, we can watch it perfect from any angle. The remote hasn't been programmed to the time warner box so no big deal we have two remotes, if that is a problem then it is a good problem right?

Initially I was a bit apprehensive when buying this TV due to never having heard of the brand, but the price paid was well worth the gamble. If there are no long term problems I will be completely happy. The only negative I have is that the remote my satellite service supplies cannot be programmed to control the TV receiver. What the heck!
