FIAMM High Note Horn,
By Tony (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews

This review is from: FIAMM 72002 12 V High Note Horn With Universal Bracket / One & Two Term (Box) (Misc.)
OEM horn for Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice(except for terminals which are easy to connect). Unfortunately these 2 nice vehicles come with 1 "low" note horn (same FIAMM model numbers as this one). By adding this 2nd "high" note horn wired parallel to the original "low" note horn that comes with these vehicles, you no longer have to be embarrassed when you hit the horn. It now sounds like my Corvette and not like a sick baby cow.
Note that the manufacturer numbers on the original horns and this one are identical. The only way to differentiate between a "low" note horn and a "high" note horn is by the letters L (for low) or H (for high) on the body of the horn. Just look for these as they don't stand out. I chose to wire the new high-note horn parallel and with the same polarity to the original low-note OEM horn. Do not use the ground wire that comes with the new horn. FIAMM states that polarity is not crucial, but I chose to stick with same polarity. You'll have to splice the wires that feed the original horn. The space is a but tight, but take your time and you'll be fine. Careful to place the horn clear of the hood and headlight body. I bolted my high note horn near the original, in the cavity in front of the right front wheel but lower than the original horn. Make sure the horn faces downward as the original to help keep debris from entering it. By bending the mounting bracket that comes with this horn 90 degrees, you'll find mounting is a breeze. Use an appropriate size nut and bolt with a lock washer. I mounted it on the cross-member just in front of the wheel which conveniently has a hole already drilled for you, so no drilling is necessary. For looks and safety, I used some wire loom to protect the wires and lubricated the terminals with silicone dielectric to keep good electrical connection. You may need to replace the 10 amp fuse with a 15 amp fuse. I still am using the original 10 amp fuse and it has held. If it blows, I will replace it with a 15 amp, which is what's in my Corvette. The relay is good enough to handle the extra load. You will find the fuse in the fuse box located above the right front wheel. After installation, take extra care to ensure you have placed the new horn out of the way of the hood and headlight assembly as you lower the hood very slowly. A buddy to help you look would be nice. Good luck.

I got both the high and low note horns for my bike, Yamaha Road Star, and they went on pretty easy. Same wire same mounts. Sound great, like a car with the hood up. Now that will get attention.

It was a good replacement for my Silverado's high note horn. However, I did have to modify the electrical connector. Not a problem considering the dealer's exact replacement was several times the price.
